Welcome to Betterbidding. 😀

Unfortunately, this is one of the busiest times of year with holiday shopping and festivities so rates are certainly on the high side.

I do see some options throughout midtown:

On PRICELINE EXPRESS (please confirm the correct dates of travel are showing on the detail page after clicking the links below.)

4* Empire State Building Area (<<<---CLICK HERE to go direct to the listing) for $236
Fitness Center
Business Center
No Smoking Rooms/Facilities
>>>Best guess would be the St Giles the Tuscany

4* Rockefeller Center - Bryant Park (<<<---CLICK HERE to go direct to the listing) for $264
Fitness Center
Restaurant
No Smoking Rooms/Facilities
Free Internet
>>>Best guess would be Club Quarters Hotel, Opposite Rockefeller Center.

On HOTWIRE:

4.5* HOTWIRE Times Square for $215.00
Pet Friendly
Smoke Free
Fitness
Restaurant
Business
Hi-Speed Internet
Blind Accessible
Room Accessible
Bathroom Accessible
Roll-in Shower
==>  Best guess would be the Westin Times Square. In Times Square, but a pretty good deal for what is traditionally a very busy period.

Would any of these possibilities be of interest?

Thank you Aaron!

Have you had any experiences with the guessed hotels? Do you see any potential issues with staying in Times Square? I imagine the noise would be an issue???

This will be our second trip to New York. We saw the majority of "tourist" sites the first time around, and just want to experience what NY has to offer during Christmas. It'll be a shorter trip than our first, so we want to maximize our time there. Would you suggest any other areas to stay in besides the ones you listed?

I'd like to rule out the Madison Square Garden area, as we got a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal for our first trip and landed the Wyndham New Yorker....it served its purpose, but would prefer not to stay there again. When I view the current Express Deal listing for Madison Square Garden area, it says "Hint: You've stayed here before."

If you've been to Times Square (which will certainly be busy for the holiday rush),  Midtown East and the surrounding zones are certainly an appealing and quieter base to see NYC from.  You would still want to remain fairly central/convenient in December with colder temps.

Unfortunately, the St Giles the Court listing from earlier appears to have run out of inventory, but there are a couple of additional options, one of which is on HOTWIRE:

4* HOTWIRE Midtown East for $231.00
Free Internet
Pet Friendly
Smoke Free
Fitness
Restaurant
Business
Hi-Speed Internet
==>  This would likely be the Even Midtown East. The Even Hotels are a newer chain and get excellent tripadvisor reviews. Free wifi and I don't see a listed resort fee (which are becoming more and more common at NYC properties.)

On PRICELINE EXPRESS (please confirm the correct dates of travel are showing on the detail page after clicking the links below.)

4* Empire State Building Area (<<<---CLICK HERE to go direct to the listing) for $194
Fitness Center
Business Center
No Smoking Rooms/Facilities
>>>Iberostar 70 Park Avenue Hotel would be my best guess. This is a former Kimpton property in a great location a few blocks South of Grand Central and a reasonable rate for a 4* during a very busy period.

Both of these would be good options to see the city from and within desired budget. Would either be of interest?
