iwannaroom
In this instance, the "mandatory fee" of $34 is a LOT more than the advertised price of $21. The total came to $63. Amenities: Free Parking Swimming Pool No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Fitness Center Casino Restaurant NOTE: this was for a Wednesday night. It seems the price for the preceding Monday was $67 (plus all the fees). This was cheaper than my Monday night deal in Henderson for a lesser stars (3.5 vs 4) property. It seems the different dates make a big difference. Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success for this leg of your stay. 25 minutes ago, iwannaroom said: In this instance, the "mandatory fee" of $34 is a LOT more than the advertised price of $21. At least you got a discount on the room, as you could have just as easily (as the majority of guests who stay at this hotel) could be paying $47/nite room rate for these same dates and still have the $34/nite to pay on top of that... when looking at the alternative paying a room rate less than the resort fee is not such a bad situation to be in (since it is indicative that you received a great deal on the room) 27 minutes ago, iwannaroom said: It seems the different dates make a big difference. This is true in many locations, but especially in the Las Vegas area where hotel demand (and prices) are driven by conferences, conventions, and other special events. I was researching a trip recently where the hotel's regular rate for the first 2 nites was about $140/nite... the 3rd nite, when a big conference started, the hotel rate for the same $140 hotel jumped to $675/nite!!! Not sure of your plans while in Vegas, but do try to catch a sporting event at the Westgate's Sports Book which is the largest sportsbook in the world. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Looking at the hotel's own website, the best deal for a room (with Senior Discount) is $51 room rate $7 tax $38 "resort fee" Total: $96 ... making Priceline Express about a 33% discount!
