beldwell
I’m looking for a hotel for 2 night stay – 9/28 and 9/29. I’m attending a Cubs game, so I really just need a Red Line stop. I’m seeing the following hotels as options, so I’d like some help to identify them. Magnificent Mile – Water Tower $146 – 4 star – 70% recommendation - Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Roll-in Shower, Pet Friendly. Is this the Whitehall? Theater District/Loop $154 – 4.5 star – 95% recommendation - Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services. Do you think this is the Allegro? River North $174 – 3 star – 100% recommendation - Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry. Do you think this is the Hilton Garden Inn? I’m seeing a Priceline Express that’s a 4.5 star in Downtown Chicago – Millennium Park that’s an 80% recommended for $166. It has the following amenities: Pets allowed, fitness center, and business center. Any clue what this one is? If you see something I didn’t, I’m open to ideas! Value & Red line access are my goals! AaronJB
I'm seeing on HOTWIRE: 4* HOTWIRE Magnificent Mile - Water Tower for $146.00 Free Internet Pet Friendly Boutique Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower ==> Whitehall would be my best guess 3* HOTWIRE River North for $174.00 Free Internet Indoor Pool Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet ==> Best guess would be the Hilton Garden Inn River North but there's a hefty $50 a night resort fee here. Not seeing a 4.5* Loop for $154 - are you still seeing this listing? Other things I'm seeing: 4* HOTWIRE Theater District - Loop for $166.00 Pet Friendly Boutique Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Hi-Speed Internet Golf Spa Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower ==> Best guess would be the Allegro 4.5* HOTWIRE Millennium Park for $148.00 Pet Friendly Smoke Free Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Spa Childrens Activities Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower ==> This would be a likely match for the Swiss. While a little further away from the Red Line, I'd rather this and a little further walk or quick taxi for $148 than the Hilton Garden inn for $174 + 50 - 224 4* HOTWIRE Magnificent Mile - Water Tower for $178.00 Free Internet Pet Friendly Boutique Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Spa Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ==> Best guess would be the Claridge House, which until recently was the Indigo Gold Coast. There is a Red Line station 2 blocks away. Would any of these possibilities be of interest? I'm very familiar with Chicago and happy to answer any hotel or city questions. beldwell
GOOD to know on the Hilton Garden Inn!! I love the location of the Swiss. The 4.5 was actually a PRICELINE EXPRESS. What do you think that might be? That is supposedly in the Millennium Park area. That might be a contender, too! Link to comment

beldwell
As always, you are the source for all logic CHICAGO! I went with the Hotwire 4.5 choice! We're coming in via Amtrak, so the Loop location is perfect! Good to know about the Hilton Garden Inn, that would have been a mistake! 4.5* HOTWIRE Millennium Park for $148.00 Pet Friendly Smoke Free Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Spa Childrens Activities Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower It was the Swiss, and I used the link above!! Thank YOU!!!! Link to comment
AaronJB
Thank you so much! Glad you're pleased with the result and that the hotel will work well for your travel plans. If you're coming into Union on Amtrak, it should be a quick taxi drive on Wacker along the river to the Swiss. You could go an hour early to Wrigley on the Red Line if you wanted to try and get ahead of the crowds. The area around Wrigley is very nice to stroll around while you wait to go into Wrigley. Across the street of the Swiss and a few steps West is a staircase that goes down to Columbus. You can walk across the river there and on the other side is a very nice Whole Foods on the corner of Illinois and Columbus. This is also a shortcut to go over to Navy Pier. I'll also suggest asking at check-in if there's any way you could get a river view. Please let me know if you have any other Chicago city questions at all. Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches. Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
