Priceline Hotel: Disney Area Hotel with 2 adults and 3 kids

Hi all,

 

What is the best way to try to get a room with 2 adults and 3 kids.  I know most disney resorts dont fit 5 (I think a few do).  Is there any way to bid on a hotel using priceline or hotwire with 2 adults and 3 kids ages 8, 8, and 9?  Seems like the one extra kid kills the deal.  Any advice on getting a cheaper room?  We are traveling May 21 through May 27th.  Thank you.

Please don't orphan your threads (as you did HERE).  Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans.

 

In regards to your question above, all PRICELINE reservations are for double occupancy... HOTWIRE allows you to search for up to quad occupancy.  If you were willing to accept some risk you could consider searching HOTWIRE for 1room/2adults/2children and hopefully identify a property beforehand that has 2 beds + a pullout sofabed (or that would allow a rollaway in the room).  This isn't something i would try in a place like NYC, Chicago, or another large city where rooms are often small, have a high percentage of rooms with only one bed, and often little/no room for a rollaway... but Orlando is used to accommodating families and rooms are often a bit larger and have a high percentage of rooms with 2 beds.  However, this would not be a good approach at any hotel that uses wristbands or other similar system (ie- on-site Disney properties) since you wouldn't be 'declaring' the 3rd child in the room.
