Bogey
This is a general question about Washington DC hotels. The best deals seem to be Kimpton hotels (with some help from your BiddingHelper.com). However, after some research I found that all Kimpton hotels charge $23 (excl tax) "resort fee" per day. Does anyone have any experience with that? I don't think PRICELINE and HOTWIRE include this fee. Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
If a hotel charges a resort fee it will usually be shown on the PRICELINE EXPRESS and HOTWIRE check-out pages (prior to your committing to the purchase). For PRICELINE NYOP (Bidding/Name Your Own Price) the check out page will show the highest resort fee in the star rating and zone(s) that you are bidding. If you win a hotel with a lesser resort fee than is shown (or no resort fee at all) then the lesser amount (or none) prevails. For any hotels that charge a resort fee these are payable directly to the hotel and not included in the amount paid to PRICELINE / HOTWIRE. If you have specific travel dates or a specific hotel offer in mind we can have a look and comment accordingly. Bogey
One example is this one for July 1-5, Dupont Circle - Woodley Park 4*, Pets Allowed, Fitness Center, Restaurant, Non smoking, $72 On the checkout page you see: "Somebody just booked this hotel for $113.89", which is the same as the normal Priceline price for Kimpton Carlyle. There is no mention of a resort fee Edit: Downtown, 3.5*, $54, Free internet, Pets allowed, Business Center This is very likely Kimpton Rouge. For this one I do see "Additional Mandatory Fee:$105.56" Link to comment
thereuare
I agree that: 4* Dupont Circle - Woodley Park (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $72/nite with: Pets Allowed Restaurant Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> most likely the Kimpton Carlyle Hotel Dupont Circle Note that PRICELINE does not indicate a resort fee when booking this hotel directly. It could be that the fee is new and not yet updated in PRICELINE's system... or that it's exempt as it falls under a 'negotiated' rate.
