AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. This is a busy period in Vegas and while rates may come down closer to the dates if traffic comes in less than expected, it can also definitely go the other way. What would be your desired max budget per night for this stay? Which zones would be acceptable? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. thereuare
Few comments to add... Rates are bit higher for these dates as: 1) it's the second weekend of the NCAA March Madness Basketball tournament. While none of the games are held in Las Vegas, and the second weekend is not nearly as big as the opening weekend, this still draws a decent sized crowd as there are a LOT of basketball games to bet on (the opening weekend is a HUGE) 2) there is an Auto Dealers Association convention taking place during your dates which has an expected attendance of 30K Are you actually looking to bid on PRICELINE for this trip... or are you actually looking at PRICELINE EXPRESS / HOTWIRE? Note that all PRICELINE reservations are for double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel and they may not be able (or willing) to accommodate your request for a room with two beds OR they may want an additional fee for anything over double occupancy. You can get around this two ways:PRICELINE EXPRESS - some hotels may show a 'Bed Choice' option and if so you can choose a room type that can accommodate all four guests. Technically your reservation is still only for double occupancy but i don't know of anyone who has yet had an issue showing up with triple/quad occupancy when booking a specific room type and that room is designed to accommodate the number of guests in the group HOTWIRE - allows you to search for up to quad occupancy and guarantees that the room will accommodate the number of guests included in the search Would you be OK booking for double occupancy even though there are four in your group? (if yes, would you only do so if you could book a specific room type OR would you be ok 'rolling the dice' (bad Vegas pun intended) and hoping for the best?) What is it that you are expecting to pay per nite? How old is the child in your group? We have a LOT of experiencing in helping users, so please answer the above so we have a better idea of what options we have for this trip. For the HOTWIRE hotels above how many rooms/adults/children are you searching for? What exactly is it that you're looking for in a hotel for this trip... any hotels that you're looking to target (or avoid)? Would the above be OK if you were able to book a specific room type that indicated 2 Queen beds (but only booked for double occupancy)? Is 2 Queen beds a must have or a want? For example, the Venetian has pullout sofabeds standard in all of their rooms, and they're good sofabeds (not some thin mattress that you would find at a 2* hotel on the side of the highway)... would this be acceptable or you need 2 Queen beds? The above is important to know as most Las Vegas Strip hotels now charge extra for rooms with 2 Beds vs 1 Bed, as well as more for quad occupancy vs. double occupancy, so we need to know exactly what parameters you're comfortable with. thereuare
Still unanswered questions... Are you OK booking a room for double occupancy if you know that there will be enough bedding in the room for everyone in your party? You're budget is already going to be very difficult unless you're willing to only book for double occupancy. As it is, i don't see anything 3.5* or higher within your budget unless you're with: Stratosphere - probably not what you are considering to be "the strip" Westin - nearby and walk-able, but not directly on the strip Tropicana -probably the closest that meets your needs ==> and i didn't even check for bed types yet, although i did have a look at what i think is the Tropicana which would be $133/nite for 2 Queens before taxes/fees Do any of the above work for your plans or would you consider increasing your budget, lowering your star rating, or staying off-strip? prav09
I am OK to book a room for double occupancy if I know that there will be enough bedding in the room for everyone. Budget also may be I can increase to $150/night I see following on hotwire 3.5-star Casino Hotel in North Strip - Fashion Show Mall area for $75/night, $37 resort fees/night. 4-star Hotel in Center Strip - Eiffel Tower area with $118/night, $33 resort fees/night 4-star Casino Hotel in South Strip - Tropicana Ave area with $147/night, $40 resort fees/night Which ones can be these? Priceline has (where I can choose 2 queen beds) 3 star The Strip - Southeast Area- $124/night, $29 as resort fees/night I should be ok with Paris, TI, MGM, Monte, Excalabir, PI, NY, Ceasers, Mirage, Harrah, Flamingo, Ballys, Cosmopolitian Westin ,Tropicana & stratosphere as last option. Thanks. ~Prav Link to comment

prav09
4* HOTWIRE Center Strip - Eiffel Tower for $87.00 is actually for $118, let me know if you have $87? Prav Link to comment
thereuare
If you search for 3adults/1child you'll get the $118/nite rate... But using this HOTWIRE link and searching for 2adults/0children you'll see it for $87/nite and with an option of 2 Double Beds. (NOTE: your reservation is still technically for double occupancy, but i don't know of anyone who has yet had an issue showing up with triple/quad occupancy when a specific room type was booked and that room type is designed to accommodate the number in the group. If you wanted to be extra cautious and play it safe, you can just have 2 people go to the check-in desk while the other two people explore some other part of the lobby or hotel) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
