thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! It appears that you're on the bidding side of PRICELINE (as opposed to PRICELINE EXPRESS). A quick tutorial: When bidding on PRICELINE you have to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you bid. Any amenities shown next to each star rating on the bidding side of PRICELINE are guaranteed as they are amenities that are offered at every hotel in this zone and at this star rating. In fact, at this point in the bidding process PRICELINE has not yet even checked inventory for your dates, so they are not describing a specific property that you would be bidding on. On the otherhand... With PRICELINE EXPRESS (and HOTWIRE) the amenities are for a specific hotel that has already been 'chosen' so it's possible to use this information to research and take an educated guess as to which property it may be. What is it that you're looking for in a hotel for this trip? What is your expected budget (per nite before fees/taxes)? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Given the information above let us know if you have any additional questions or let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. W00GIE
I'm running in the half marathon and am hopeful to get a hotel with shuttle service to the parks for the early coral time I would like to keep the per night price at or under 125 Link to comment
thereuare
Other than the on-site Disney properties I"m assuming there is additional shuttle service to the parks provided by the marathon? If so, do you know which hotels this additional service is provided from... or is it only 'regularly scheduled' shuttle service that is offered by on-site Disney properties and a few other hotels? W00GIE
It's the Disney Shuttle service, but it starts the shuttle runs at about 4 am as the marathon is a Disney sanctioned event (Dark Side Half Marathon) Link to comment
thereuare
Your budget is probably not realistic given the half marathon and I don't see any on-site properties within your budget when searching PRICELINE EXPRESS / hotwire for your dates above. The least expensive property i'm able to find is Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort for $222, although another user recently commented that there are renovations going on at this property (not sure if this would be an issue for you or not, but it may be a moot point given it's quite a bit over your budget) It looks like the half marathon is on 4/22? If so, have you thought about staying at one (less expensive) hotel for the majority of your trip and then moving to a (more expensive) on-site Disney property the day before the marathon (for when you really would want the shuttle service)? The other option would be to stay your complete stay at a less expensive property and then take a taxi/uber to the park on the day of the marathon. W00GIE
Thank you for the info. We tossed around the idea of staying elsewhere and then on property for that Saturday and Sunday. We have come to terms with having to up out hotel budget and will more than likely look at a SSprings Disney Partner Hotel. Run Disney buses still hit those as well :) If we do go PRICELINE/ HOTWIRE we will def go through here! Link to comment
