AprilVA
Looking for 4* of higher for NYC travel weekend. Previously stayed at Waldorf and loved that area (but it's closed for reno), but trying to change it up. Thinking SOHO, but may stay closer to MTE or Central Park South area. Link to comment
thereuare
To possible options that meet your stated criteria above (confirm your dates on the landing pages after clicking the links provided below): 4* Midtown East for $239 Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> best guess would be the New York Marriott East Side 4* SoHo - Tribeca for $241 Restaurant Free Internet ==> Arlo SoHo is my guess here For not much more you could also make a jump in star rating (and when using the link and code in my signature or at the top of the page is only about $5/nite over your budget): 4.5* SoHo - Tribeca for $269 Restaurant Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities ==> Nomo Soho is my guess for this one Any of the above work for your needs this trip? AprilVA
Ok circling back to this- definitely want to stay in MTE area and realize I will be having to increase my budget to $300 now. Trying to decide between Express deals or bidding. If I decide to bid, what price should I start around? Thanks! Link to comment
AaronJB
The issue with bidding is if you are okay with the possibility of any of the hotels at the star rating in the zone (the hotels showing on PRICELINE EXPRESS are not necessarily what you may wind up with when bidding.) PRICELINE EXPRESS and HOTWIRE also currently have promotions (as seen in my signature), whereas bidding does not. Bidding is generally slightly-to-moderately cheaper than PRICELINE EXPRESS. On PRICELINE EXPRESS (please confirm the correct dates of travel are showing on the detail page after clicking the link below.) 4.5* Grand Central Terminal - UN for $294 Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities >>>Best guess would be the Even Hotel Midtown East. Would this possibility be of interest? Or would you prefer to go the bidding route? HOTWIRE also has: 4* HOTWIRE Rockefeller Center for $292.00 Pet Friendly Boutique Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Spa Childrens Activities ==> This would likely be the W New York, which has been seen with this amenity set previously. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. AprilVA
I think I will try to stick with the PRICELINE EXPRESS deals either on HOTWIRE or PRICELINE. That Even Hotel is a little too trendy. Just tried to find that hotline deal and it must have gone up (I see a 327 for a boutique hotel 4 star for those dates). That area is good also (Rock Center).
