aesthetic
My husband and I are going to an event in Seattle on the 20th and want to make a weekend out of it. Neither of us have been there and would like insight on where to stay and help identifying hotels via Priceline Express and Hotwire. Also open to bidding for a property if that would get us a better deal as well. Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
What is your expected budget (per nite before fees/taxes) for your Seattle trip? Do you have any specific plans as to what you would like to see/do while in the area (other than, i assume, Pike Place Market?) Also, please conclude your previous Portland Hotwire hotel thread with whatever you ended up doing for that trip. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your results/decisions as you receive them so that the information can best help others in a timely manner. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. aesthetic
We would like to stay under $150/night, although we are hoping for cheaper if possible as I believe it is off-season. We are going to a show near Seattle University on Saturday night, and would like to see Pike Place Market. We have not been to Seattle before and are open to what we would like to do. We will probably end up checking out some of the more notable spots, eating a few good restaurants, and seeing the Art Museum. Link to comment
AaronJB
I'm seeing on PRICELINE EXPRESS (please confirm the correct dates of travel are showing on the detail page after clicking the links below.) 4.5* Downtown - Shopping District - Convention Center - Capitol Hill for $143 Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant No Smoking Rooms/Facilities >>>Guess would be the Kimpton Monaco Seattle. 4* Downtown - Pike Place - Waterfront - Stadiums for $128 Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities >>>A guess would be the Westin. Would either of these possibilities be of interest? The Monaco would be a particularly nice result. aesthetic
I think we are in between the Kimpton and the Fairmont. Is there one you might recommend over the other, based on your knowledge of the hotel and/or the vicinity, etc.? Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
Both get excellent reviews and they are two blocks apart from each other, so the locations are nearly identical. Personally, i have always wanted to stay at a Kimpton property but have not yet had the opportunity to do so and therefore that is the one i would likely choose... the Fairmont seems nice too, but a little less my style; i would have no issues staying at the Fairmont, but given the choice and similar price i would likely choose the Monaco (and the daily free wine hour for guests offered in the lobby helps tips the scale in this direction too ). AaronJB
I'll also suggest the Kimpton, which has a free wine social hour every evening. You could try signing up for Kimpton Karma if you go the Kimpton route. Usually reservations booked via PRICELINE/HOTWIRE aren't eligible for benefits, but it's free to sign up and worth a try.
