was looking at a hotel that was $98 all week and now it is $104. Do they rotate sale prices? will it go back down the closer the check in date?

Just like regular hotel rates, opaque prices fluctuate based upon supply vs. demand (and i don't put too much value in their 'sales' as it's mostly marketing).

 

How far away is your trip and for how many nites?  Do you think you have identified the hotel being offered?  If it's a $25 savings vs. a regular rate at the same property does a $6/nite savings change your mind?  If it's a $50 savings... does the $6/nite effect your purchase decision?  What if a $100/nite savings?
