Hotwire Hotel: 4.5* Chicago (Downtown Chicago - River North) James Hotel

I'm looking for some guidance. I'm looking to stay in Chicago June 15-17 at a high end property (4.5* or 5*). Prefer Mag Mile/Gold Coast or River North. Ideally looking for two beds.

 

Looked at PRICELINE EXPRESS and found 4.5* Mag Mile at $149 with the following amenities:

Free Internet

Business Center

Fitness Center

Non Smoking

Restaurant

Pets Allowed

 

Also on PRICELINE EXPRESS in River North 4.5*

Fitness Center

Non Smoking

Pets Allowed

Restaurant

Swimming Pool

 

Any ideas what hotels these might be?

Would I stand a better chance bidding through Priceline for an even lower price? Or trying Hotwire?

Would like to stay under $150/nt.

You could try bidding on PRICELINE for a slightly lower price but then you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zones that you bid at the star rating (or higher) that you choose... no ability to have a guess or any insight as to which property it is that you may receive, and the hotel may or may not be as well reviewed as the ones above.

==> my guess here is also The Westin Michigan Avenue Chicago, but the above also appears when searching for 2adults/1child, which will help you ensure two beds in the room (although the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed or rollaway brought into the room)... not sure how much two beds is a need vs. a want.

Personally, if you are willing to risk not getting two beds, I'd rather suggest the Kimpton Palomar via the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. That's a very nice hotel - and superbly located - for only a few dollars more than the Westin. The Palomar is not a far walk from Michigan Ave and is right next to a CTA subway stop. There's also tons of restaurants nearby in the River North area. Please let me know if you have any Chicago city questions.

Used your provided link for HOTWIRE and chose 4.5* River North and got James Hotel for $131/nt. Never stayed there so hoping it was a good gamble.
