I'd say 170$ ... might be a little bit more, depending on the chances for a nicer hotel

 

on the other side I saw a 140$ Central Park South 4* on Hotwire, which might be the Shoreham ... been there before, was ok

any other hints on NoMad, Chelsea, Bryant Park, SoHo, Meatpacking?

also maybe Union Square, Madsion Square Garden, Lower East Side

Assuming we're right on the Room Mate Grace just approach / exit the hotel from Sixth Ave and you'll never even know that you're just a half a block from Times Square

it's not the Room Mate Grace, but The Belvedere

Sorry to hear this one didn't go as expected, but on the bright side this is an excellent rate for this property for your dates and it's a little further from Times Square (which you were trying to avoid) and is near 3 different subway stations... so hopefully you can make this work for your plans.
