$81 - Center Strip

FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Boutique hotel, Casino, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services

$97 - Center Strip

FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Resort, Pet friendly, Casino, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower

Please provide a follow-up for your prior Las Vegas Hotwire thread (post what you decided for that stay within that thread, then reply to this thread and we would be happy to take a look at the above post.) Closing threads is greatly appreciated, as it keeps the board organized and helps others researching their stay.

Best guess/comments for each:

$79 - South Strip

==> Tropicana

$67 - South Strip

==> new amenity set for the Monte Carlo Resort and Casino would be my guess for this one

$81 - Center Strip

==> not enough amenities to really drill down on this one... Paris or Linq would be my top guesses

$97 - Center Strip

==> not certain, but maybe Planet Hollywood for this one

$89 - North Strip

==> SLS Las Vegas

TWO OTHER SUGGESTIONS (confirm your dates on the landing pages):

4* Las Vegas Strip South for $65
Business Center
Restaurant
Free Internet
Casino
Fitness Center
No Smoking Rooms/Facilities

==> Monte Carlo

4* Las Vegas Strip North for $77
Free Parking
Business Center
Restaurant
Free Internet
Indoor or Outdoor Pool
Casino
Fitness Center
No Smoking Rooms/Facilities

==> Treasure Island

Sorry, I probably should have been more specific. I need six rooms total. Three rooms with a king bed and three rooms with two beds each. I assume that when I book through HOTWIRE or your PRICELINE links (great finds, by the way) that it is for the cheapest room, which is typically one king bed. Is it possible to book a room with two beds? Would I just book directly on the respective hotel's website and select two beds as the option? Thanks.

When you bid, there is no guarantee in regards to bed type. If you need specific bed options, then you can look for PRICELINE EXPRESS listings that specify "bed choice" and then see if on the next page there is the option that you are looking for. If you search on HOTWIRE for more than 2 adults (can be 2 adults and 2 children, even if there isn't 2 children) you should get some form of bedding for quad occupancy. Occasionally, HOTWIRE listings offer specific bed choices. One can book via PRICELINE or HOTWIRE and ask at check-in (or contact pre-arrival) regarding bedding choices, but there is no guarantee that the hotel will say yes (or may charge an added fee, if two beds is usually an upgrade.)

Additionally, if you are searching for quad occupancy on HOTWIRE, prices and options may be different.

What would be your budget per room/per night for this stay?

Hi. Thanks for the helpful information.

I still have the same budget for this stay. I want to stay under $100 for each room / night (pre taxes and resort fee). All six rooms will actually be double occupancy. There are three husband wife combinations, which want a single king bed. There are six other individuals who are not married and want their own bed for the other three rooms.

I think my best bet is to book three rooms via your PRICELINE EXPRESS link above for either Monte Carlo or Treasure Island. This would be for the three married couples. For the other three rooms where I need two beds, I think I have to just book it directly on MAPS and HOTELS.com to select my bed preference.

I don't know what it would cost you to purchase 3 rooms via HOTWIRE / PRICELINE EXPRESS and the the other 3 at 'regular retail' thru MAPS and HOTELS.com, but i would weigh vs. the following:

In the EASY VIEW of BiddingHelper.com:

4* North Strip - Fashion Show Mall for $116.00
Free Parking
Resort
Casino
Fitness
Pool
Restaurant
Business
Hi-Speed Internet
Golf
Spa
Blind Accessible
Deaf Accessible
Travel Accessible
Room Accessible
Bathroom Accessible
Handicapped Parking
Roll-in Shower
==> best guess for this one would be Treasure Island

if you find this same hotel in the 'regular' HOTWIRE tab of BiddingHelper.com you'll see this is offered with a Bed Choice of 1King vs. 2Queens.

I would buy the 2 Queens first (since typically these would be the more expensive rooms vs. 1King)... then repeat your search again and hope that the same hotel (and bed choices) are offered again at the same price.  If so, complete your purchase for the 1King bed rooms... if not, purchase the 1King rooms thru MAPS and HOTELS.com.

The risk is that after you make the first purchase the same hotel is not offered for your second purchase (or the desired room configuration is not offered, the price suddenly jumps, etc)... but it should be easier to 'talk your way' into a room with 1King bed vs. trying to go from a King to 2 Queens.

Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your win with the board.

Glad to hear of your (partial) win and that you're pleased with the outcome.

Do you no longer need the additional 3 rooms or what is your gameplan for the rooms still needed?

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey. Yes, we ended up not needing the other three rooms. I essentially told that part of the group to book their own rooms. Thanks again for all the help. We just came back from Vegas and had a blast. Thinking of going back again November 4 weekend, but I'll open a new thread for suggestions on those dates.
