Priceline Hotel: Clearwater Beach, Florida Hotel 9/5-9/6

Hello

 

I am looking to bid on a hotel near the beach by the Clearwater area. Below is the needed info

 

-Area: Clearwater Beach

-Dates: 9/5 to 9/6

-Zones: 2,5, 13, 10

-Star rating: 3* or higher

-Room rate: $50-$100 max

Please list the zones by PRICELINE name, as the zone numbers will change any time that PRICELINE adds, removes, or renames a zone.

-Indian 

-St.Pete Beach

-Treasure Island

 

Goal is to get any 3* or higher for as cheap as possible for a hotel that is on the beach.

When bidding on PRICELINE you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you bid... how do you plan in ensuring a hotel that is on the beach?

 

HOTWIRE has what looks like:

Treasure Bay Hotel and Marina for $67/nite that is listed as 'Near Beach'

Sirata Beach Resort for $76/nite that is listed as Beachfront

Quality Hotel on The Beach for $77/nite that is Beachfront

Holiday Inn Harbourside for $86/nite listed as 'Near Beach'

Shephard's Beach Resort for $87/nite

 

Would you prefer to try to target any of the above at these prices vs. bidding and risking a hotel that is not on the beach?

I was assuming that since the zones I selected are in the beach area, it would be at least walkable distance to the beach..

In your first post you mention that you want to be near the beach... later in this thread you mention that you want to be on the beach.

 

Regardless of whether you want to be on/near the beach, you can't go by the zone names, as what really counts are the zone boundaries that appear on the map (use the search box on the top right corner of the board, enter your dates and location, and look at the zones on the map).

 

Are you willing to stay anywhere within the shaded regions of the zones you mention above... or would you prefer to pay a little more and 'choose' a hotel that is listed as Beachfront and/or Near Beach?

Sorry this is all confusing for me! My first preference would be to stay beachfront. I guess theres no way to be certain based on the zones that I can stay beachfront. So is it safer to do a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal ?

PRICELINE EXPRESS does not use a Beachfront amenity to describe the hotel, but HOTWIRE does (they also user a 'Near Beach' for something that is walkable to the beach but not directly on it, although what is walkable for some may not necessarily be walkable for others)... so the safest option would be to use HOTWIRE and choose a property that shows a Beachfront amenity (or a 'Near Beach' amenity if you think that would be acceptable for you as well)

 

If you scroll up 4 posts you'll see where i took a guess as to which HOTWIRE hotels were being offered that showed either a Beachfront or a Near Beach amenity... if any of those are of interest, we will confirm to see if it is still available and list the other amenities associated with the property so you can go ahead and pick it up.
