Dear all,

we (couple with baby) will be the first time in Vegas from 6/28/16 - 07/01/16. I tried to find out myself which hotels are behind the different offers with the offered list here. But I didn't manage to: :-)

The hotels which are displayed for the Center Strip on These Dates (5*) are the following:

1) FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Suite, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower

2)FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Suite, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services, Kitchenette

3) FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Resort, Casino, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower

4) FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Boutique hotel, Casino, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Internet access

We are a little bit sympathizing with the Bellagio but I think it's not in there, right? Do you have any advice I can compare the displayed amenities with your list myself (as I wanted to check for the Encore (North Strip) as well...

I will of course let you know as soon as we have booked!

Many thanks for your held already!!!

Marcel

Welcome to BetterBidding!

What issues are you having comparing the hotels above with the Hotwire Hotel List?  For example, i just looked at the first property you have listed above:

FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free Internet, Suite, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower

--> from the hotel list this is an exact match for previous reports of the Four Seasons so that would be my best guess for this one

For the others there are exact matches as well:

#2 - Jet Luxury at the Vdara

#3 - Aria or Bellagio... both have been seen with this amenity set so it could be either, although i would slightly favor this one being the Bellagio, but you need to be prepared that it could also be the Aria

#4 - no guess

Is the Bellagio (and/or Encore) the only hotels you're willing to accept for this trip?  What is your maximum budget for this stay?

Also, in the future please post the room rate per nite for each hotel as it makes it easier for us to locate the same hotel among the offers when we replicate your search.

Many thanks for the quick response! How do you do the checking with the provided list. Do you have certain criterias you concentrate on where you can quickly see the differences or do you compare word by word (difficult due to the different order in the list...)?

Sorry I forgot the prices:

1)92 USD

2)80 USD

3)107 USD

4)164 USD

Would mean the Bellagio is for 107 USD most probably, right? Is it a good price?

You asked if there are other hotels we would accept. In we end we are really open. Do you have a a personal favorite (also considering the baby) you would recommend in terms of price/performance?Max is not 100% defined :-) But I would say between 80 and 140 USD/per room and night.

Many thanks for your help!!!

The 3rd listing for $107 would be a possible match for the Aria or Bellagio.  I think it becomes a matter of a particular hotel may not be everyone's cup-of-tea; when looking at the possibilities online, is there one that stands out as being more compelling to you than the others?

Many thanks for your advice. I now wanted to book and was very surprised that is more than 70$ fee (for 3 days) coming on top at the last step... Not very transparent from my point of view...

Resort fees are (unfortunately) extremely common in Vegas. On HOTWIRE, the approximate resort fee is listed during check-out, as well as at the bottom of the detail page for the listing.

I am a fan of Vdara, the rooms are suites with a seating area separated from the bed with a room divider and include a small refrigerator and a cooking surface.  The hotel is very quiet, and from the lobby, the Bellagio Conservatory is about a 5 minute walk.

It's common practice for online booking agencies and hotel websites to show the room rate per nite on the search results page and then the taxes/booking fee on the subsequent page.

In your example above, the $70 is comprised of the hotel's tax plus HOTWIRE's booking fee.  With taxes in Las Vegas running about 12% the tax portion is about $40 and HOTWIRE's booking fee about $10/nite... and is transparent as long as it's shown during the booking process and not an unexpected surprise fee once you show up at the hotel.

Keep in mind that if you were to book a 'regular rate' hotel at a higher price, you would be paying hotel tax on the larger amount as well.

Many thanks, also for the advice with the Vdara. Unfortunately the Vdara has no free parking...

Just to understand correctly: when I compare prices with e.g. the ones displayed on Trivago (usually higher) then they do already include the tax, right? Means I compare price Hotwire+tax+Hotwire fee with price Trivago (to compare apples with apples) :-)

The Vdara does have self parking(" The Self Park garage is located off CityCenter Place"). If an amenity (such as free parking) is listed on HOTWIRE and then is not the case at the hotel, I'd then call HOTWIRE

Trivago shows full prices. Taxes/fees are added at check-out. HOTWIRE taxes/fees are added during the check-out process.

Somehow I do not really get it: I now wanted to book the Vdara via this Betterbidding on Hotwire and it showed me (3x 90 USD =270 USD + 180 USD tax & fee = 450 USD (total but excl Resort fee)). How is it possible that tax + fee (not resort fee) is 2/3 of the dispalyed Price on top?

On other sites you get this Hotel incl. fee and tax for around 300 USD... Do I miss something/mix sth. up?

Yes... are you aware that the $90 hotel (at least the one i'm seeing on my search for your dates) is the 'Jet Luxury at Vdara' and not the 'Vdara Hotel'?

The Jet Luxury is a private company that owns, manages, and rents hotel rooms within the hotels (at least that's the easy way of explaining it).  I can't be certain, but my guess is that Jet Luxury does not charge a resort fee at check-in, but they instead charge it ahead of time and is included in the 'taxes and fees' section (notice how unlike other hotels in this area there is no additional line item listing the resort fee?)

If you are looking for the 'actual' Vdara that is owned and managed by Vdara/MGM then look at the EASY VIEW tab for the $98/nite offer that shows:

Free Parking

Free Internet

Suite

Smoke Free

Fitness

Pool

Restaurant

Business

Hi-Speed Internet

Golf

Spa

Blind Accessible

Deaf Accessible

Travel Accessible

Room Accessible

Bathroom Accessible

Roll-in Shower

... this is like the 'actual' Vdara, and even though $8 more per nite for the room rate you will see is only $5 all-in (total) more than the $90 offer above... as well this HOTWIRE offer does list out the resort fee as a separate line item).

Although housed in the same building, The Vdara hotel gets better reviews than the rooms that are managed by Jet Luxury, and are worth the extra $5 for your complete stay.

Currently 'other' sites are selling the Vdara for $112/nite and if you decide to book this way it would be appreciated if you used our hotel direct link to The Vdara or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com.

With regards to parking, all MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas (and this includes Vdara) will implement a parking charge in the Spring of 2016, you might want to contact the hotel for the exact dates.

AaronJB is correct in that you could park at City Center, I have even heard of parking at Aria.  The other option would be valet and when I stayed there three years ago it was free, but it's customary to tip the attendant.  I'm probably one of the most ardent "no valet" types, but this actually worked out very well for my stay and it is beyond convenient.  Which is helpful when you have a little one in tow.
