I'm not currently seeing the $92/nite offered i this zone when searching for your dates, are you still seeing this on your own HOTWIRE search?  If so, are you searching for something other than the default 2adults/0chidlren?

 

For the $150/nite hotel my guess would be a new amenity set for the Century Plaza Hotel and Spa.

 

Not sure of your needs for this trip, but i'll add that i'm seeing this 3.5* Downtown Shoping District hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $96/nite with:

Pets Allowed
Business Center
Restaurant
Free Internet
Indoor or Outdoor Pool
Fitness Center
... best guess here would be the Coast Plaza Suite Hotel, if this works for your needs

Yes, the $92/night is gone when i refreshed my search.

 

I can't use Priceline, I don't think, because it's for 3 people- my husband, my daughter (8) and myself. The tab said priceline only searches double occupancy.

PRICELINE EXPRESS might be OK if it shows a 'Bed Choice' and one of those options can accommodate the needs of your family... technically your reservation would still be for double occupancy, but if the room comfortably holds 3 people, most hotels typically won't have an issue with a young child as the 3rd guest.  However, a moot point for the offer above since that one doesn't offer a 'Bed Choice'

 

What is your maximum budget for this trip? (per nite before fees/taxes)

I think it should. i had an apt reservation that was cancelled by the owner and I'm waiting for the refund to go through before I pull the trigger. Do the prices fluctuate often, should I not wait? I'm probably being too conservative...

Offers can/do change at any time... you see how quickly the other property in your original post disappeared.

The HOTWIRE offer above may be there up to and including the day you check-in... or it could be gone the next time you search; you just never know.

 

If you used a credit card and have something in writing (email) from the apt owner that the reservation is being cancelled i would think you are 'safe', if paid with cash/check and/or don't have anything other than a verbal agreement that the reservation will be canceled, then i would be a bit more cautious... but of course you know the situation better and need to act in whatever manner you're comfortable with.
