Please start by following-up your previous Hotwire Rehoboth Beach thread with whatever you ended up doing for that trip, and responding to the questions last asked in your NYC HOTEL thread... then reply here and we will have a look at your post above.

Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans.

For your London trip are you ready to book at this point in time?  You mention that there are three 5* hotels offered for your dates but request 4 hotels above... is the fourth hotel also 5* rated and/or in this zone as well?  What is your maximum budget (per nite before fees/taxes) for this trip?

Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

In the Mayfair zone, I'm seeing at the 5* level:

$218 Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry

-- Not yet Id'd/reported.

$266 Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Wheelchair Accessible, Pet Friendly

-- Possible ME London

$230  Free Internet, Pet friendly, Boutique hotel, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Spa services

-- Not yet ID'd/reported. The Metropolitan would be a guess, but this may be something else not yet reported/ID'd.

$212  Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower

-- Not yet Id'd/reported, but I'd be rather concerned with a 5* property that has a 3/5 tripadvisor rating.

Please keep us updated with what you decide. You can also see the list of hotels that have been reported here: Hotwire Hotel List Other Countries.

If you are going to bid on PRICELINE, then you have to be willing to accept any hotel at the star rating selected in the zone/s selected. Before trying to research/ID additional listings, would you rather go the bidding route instead?

Every one of the hotels asked about above is more than $200/nite... are you willing to pay more than $200/nite or are none of the hotels above serious considerations and you are looking to bid on PRICELINE in order to stay within your $200/nite budget?

Best guess for the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer above would be the Le Meridien Piccadilly or the W London Leicester Square.

Please keep in mind that researching hotels can be a time consuming process, so only ask for help with hotels that are within your desired budget, star rating, and zone criteria and that are ready to purchase.

As well, if you're intention is to bid on PRICELINE regardless of what is offered thru HOTWIRE or PRICELINE EXPRESS, please start with a request for a bidding strategy as there isn't much point in researching hotel offers if your gameplan is to fist bid on PRICELINE (not to mention that the hotels currently available may not be the ones that are offered once you've tried bidding)

Your bidding strategy for a London 5* will involve the use of "free rebid" zones.

Are you familiar with/comfortable with the concept?

There currently are 14 free rebid zones available for London 5* bidding.  It is a good idea to post back here the list you believe is right, and somebody will double check them for you.

At current rates I'm doubtful that $175 will be enough for a 5* in the Mayfair-Soho zone, i think it will take closer to $200/nite, but if you want to give it a try you can do so as follows:

When bidding 5* in London you have FIFTEEN re-bid zones.  If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 5* Mayfair-Soho...

Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $143, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $148, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $153, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $158, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $163, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $168, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $173, if rejected add re-bid zone...
Bid $175

Any questions feel free to ask.
