Magellan321
It's been a while since I bid on a room...so any help would be appreciated. I placed a $99 for zone 4 on a 4.5* to start....what next? I'm sure it will come back to my memory....but right now I'm drawing a blank. Thanks in advance! Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! Please post the zone names (instead of numbers) to the board as it will avoid confusion for future readers since the zone numbers will change any time zones are re-named, added, or removed. I assume you bid on the Downtown - Coal Harbor, Stanley Park, Convention Center zone? If so, is this the only acceptable zone? What is your maximum bid for a 4.5* hotel for a hotel in this zone, as you can gradually increase your bid using Priceline Re-Bidding Explained zones (feel free to confirm your re-bid zones with the board before bidding... but currently there are TWELVE re-bid zones available when bidding 4.5* in this region) I will add that i have a quick look and i don't think you're $99 bid is likely in the right ballpark for a 4.5* hotel in this zone... at current rates you'll move likely need to be in the $150-$175 area (as i'm seeing 'regular retail rates' for 4.5* hotels in this zone starting about about $245) Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know the information above and how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. thereuare
Where, and how much, is your back-up hotel? Magellan321
My back up reservation is the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Riverport Richmond for $126 total with taxes. Link to comment
thereuare
Not really sure if you're comparing apples-to-apples given your bidding for a 4.5* hotel in 'downtown' and your backup hotel is lower rated and 30 minutes away. If you're able to stretch your budget just a few dollars there is this 4.5* Downtown-Coal Harbor hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $157/nite with Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Pets Allowed, Restaurant, Free Internet, Business Center, Fitness Center ==> best guess for this one would be the Pinnacle Hotel Vancouver Harbourfront which seems to get good reviews Would this one work for your plans and worth the extra $7 over what you have already tried bidding in this zone? Magellan321
I understand that they are not the same level hotel and the distance. However, my back up is $126 including taxes and fees with breakfast. The above hotel with taxes and fees comes to $196 without breakfast. I will bid on a 4* downtown closer to the dates of travel.
