Romelle
Have you worked with MAPS and HOTELS.com yet? It is up in the Tool Box in the header. Marvelous instrument. After you initially key in your destination and dates, you can do lots of further refinement. You can select on star level, price range, area, and other things. You can even use the port address as your destination, and then look at the results on a map to see which ones are closest. It is a bit of a learning curve, but well worth the time spent. Working with it for a while will give you a clear idea of just what your worst case direct purchase might be. PRICELINE EXPRESS and Hot.wire will likely be a little less expensive, and Price.line bidding even slightly less. Sometimes the airport hotels can be more reasonable, and they often include free breakfast. Then shuttle back to the airport in the morning and use public transport to get downtown and to the port. Some kids actually think buses and such are fun. But do some serious checking if you are thinking of this plan. Sometimes buses don't run as regularly on weekends as during the week. This might be useful in considering your transport options: http://www.neworleanscruisetips.com/transportation-options-to-the-new-orleans-cruise-port/ Romelle PS - I'm a member, not a board official Link to comment
