sethrapaport
I have a "Friends and Family" rate booked at The Lexington in MTE for 11/24-26. Rate is $107 first night and $129 for the second night, for a total of $278 with taxes and fees. This is a pretty good rate, but I'm wondering if I could get a nicer property for less money? I understand that Thanksgiving generally presents opportunities due to the drop in business travel. If a better rate is a possibility, I'd be happy to get a bidding strategy. If where I'm at now is as good as it will get, then I'm not unhappy. MTE, MTW, TS, MSG, ESB would all be fine. Thanks so much!Seth Link to comment
thereuare
I see two options: FIRST: There is this 4* Times Square hotel (confirm your dates on the landing page) with Restaurant, Free Internet, Business Center, Fitness Center. While the room rate is $127/nite and will cost you a little more than your current back-up reservation, this PRICELINE EXPRESS offer has an excellent 9.0+ user review rating by previous guests, so would likely provide you a better hotel and a better location (if you're looking to stay in/near Times Square) for a little more money... my guess for this property would be the Hyatt Times Square. SECOND: I do think you can get a 4* hotel for under $110/nite in one of the MTE, MTW, TS, MSG, or ESB zones. If you'd prefer to go this route you can bid as follows... When bidding 4* in NYC you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 4* MTE, MTW, TS, MSG... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE... Select 4* MTE, MTW, TS, ESB... Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $95, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE... Select 4* MSG, ESB, MTE, MTW... Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $103, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE... Select 4* MSG, ESB, MTE, TS... Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $103, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE... Select 4* MTE, MTW, TS, MSG, ESB... Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $108, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $110 Any questions feel free to ask. travelwise2
I had the same days and bid on PRICELINE yesterday. I won a 4* hotel near TS for $105 plus taxes total was $264., use the suggestion on my priceline NYC post if you like. The bid strategy below is similar. Good luck! Link to comment
