Zoolantz
Hi, I'm looking to stay in Downtown Disney area. If I 'name my own price' on 4* hotels in that area, will I end up getting a resort hotel that charges resort fees on top of hotel rate? How do I avoid such hotels. The Hilton Lake Buena Vista, for example, charges $27/night. Thanks. Link to comment
thereuare
If avoiding a resort fee is your primary goal then you would be better served to use PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE as both will usually show you any resort fee amount before your purchase (although it's not guaranteed that any additional fee would be shown nor is either service under an obligation to do so) but this would be a good start. From there you can further try to take an educated guess as to the hotel offered to have additional confidence that the hotel does not charge a resort fee. If the resort fee is a 'make or break', you can use our additional site ResortFee.com that will allow you to search only hotels that don't charge additional resort fees. ;) What are the dates of your stay? Which zones are acceptable and what is your target budget per nite for this trip? AaronJB
Additionally, the other issue becomes figuring in the resort fee into the total vs a listing that doesn't have one. If there's a 4* on Hot.wire or PRICELINE EXPRESS without a resort fee for $100, you might see a 4* listing with a $20 resort fee and a $75 price tag - save the $5 per night. In Orlando it's going to be difficult to avoid a resort fee - many hotels charge them. Zoolantz
Thank you for your response. I just hate surprises. Some hotels charge $27/night resort fee, plus parking. That's quite excessive, in my opinion. Link to comment
