OnTheGoAgain
Do I do anything differently if bidding for a hotel for tomorrow night? If I don't win bid I probably can't wait to bid again in 24 hours. Looking for Hotel Ithaca (which looks to be the 3* Downtown on list of hotels for Priceline). I can book a room on their website (AAA) for $161. Is $100 reasonable to bid? Any help is appreciated. Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
Your topic title indicates tonite (6/5) but your post mentions tomorrow nite... what is the actual nite you need? Also, note that the lock-out period on PRICELINE is no longer 24 hours, it has been reduced to 2 hours, so you should be able to get a few bidding attempts in... but clarify the dates of your stay and we'll offer some suggestions. Also, is the Hotel Ithaca the only hotel you're willing to accept OR are you ok should you receive a different hotel? OnTheGoAgain
Sorry - It's for 6/6/15. Typo in Title. I can accept other 3* hotels but didn't see them listed so assumed the only hotel was Hotel Ithaca. Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
How high are you willing to go before taking the $161/nite rate? (which can give it a try, but my instincts tell me it may be tough to beat). How many 2 hour periods do you think you will have to be able to bid? OnTheGoAgain
i have only a few opportunities tonight - maybe 3, 4 tops. Are you aware of other 3* hotels that for Priceline? Thanks for the edit and help. Link to comment

I'm not aware of any other 3* rated hotels in this zone, but there could always be others that i'm not aware of or familiar with. OnTheGoAgain
As high as $140. Otherwise, I'll just book online. Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
When bidding 3* in Ithaca you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. I would bid as follows: Select 3* Ithaca... Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $120 If the above is rejected wait 2 hours and use this link to re-access PRICELINE, and re-try: Select 3* Ithaca... Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $130 If the above is rejected wait 2 hours and use this link to re-access PRICELINE, and re-try: Select 3* Ithaca... Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $140 Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Good luck and let us know how it goes. OnTheGoAgain
Unfortunately, I did not win the bid (and instead of $140, went to $150). Thanks for your help. Link to comment
thereuare
Sorry to hear it didn't work out for you this time around but hopefully the $161/nite rate was still available. Thank you for closing this thread with your decision and trying your bids with the board PRICELINE links. Enjoy you stay.
