daveritchey
I am looking at a 3.5* in the Waikiki beach area for May 3-5, 2015 (2 nights) and need help identifying this hotel. I would appreciate any help that's available to find the hotel with these amenities. There is no resort fee added to this property when going to the check out page. 3.5* Waikiki Beach FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Near beach, Smoke-free rooms, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Tennis nearby Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
Please include the room rate per nite in your posts as it makes it easier for us to find the same hotel when replicating your search. The Park Shore would be my best guess for this one. daveritchey
Thanks Thereuare, I was looking this morning at the amenities on Priceline at a 3 1/2 star Waikiki Beach Area for $128 on May 4-6 (2 nights), but when I select this offer it says it can now offer this for $120 because of inventory. I guess that this is an automatic discount. Also, I'm not sure if Priceline has a express deal discount active at this time. I saw a $10 offer that expired last night (March 7th), so if you know of any other discount I would appreciate your input. The amenities listed on the Express Deal were: indoor or outdoor poolrestaurantfitness centerfree access I'm not sure what other amenities they would offer, but I need help in identifying this hotel. There is an mandatory resort fee of $46.00 to the reservation. Thanks :) Link to comment
thereuare
The Aston Waikiki Beach would be my best guess for this 3.5* PRICELINE EXPRESS offer. daveritchey
Thanks for the information. Reviews on the Aston Waikiki Beach are not that good on Trip Advisor. The are in construction mode, so that's a big disadvantage. I'm now looking at a 3-star Waikiki Beach Area (May 4-6) for 2 nights that cost $129 a night and is a 8.0-10 guest favorite with indoor/outdoor pool, free internet, and restaurant for a total of $310.92. It offers an upgrade to a non-smoking room with an ocean view for $176 plus taxes and fees. There is no resort fee for this 3-star room. What is your best guess as to what hotel this is? Also, what are your thoughts on the Waikiki Beach Area vs the Waikiki Marina area hotel success in the past??? The hotel rating, great quality, and guest favorite is high on my priority list. Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
Best guess for the 3* PRICELINE EXPRESS property would be the Park Shore Waikiki Hotel. Many years ago I stayed in the Marina zone (the Hawaii Prince) and it was nice, but it's not the easiest commute to the beach, so if you intend to spend most of your time on the beach i would sooner look towards the Waikiki Beach zone (we had a 2 year old at the time so we spent more time at the pool and close to the room than the beach). If the Beach zone is beyond your budget i'd then look toward the Beach City Center zone for convenience (and that i like the city atmosphere). With these previous comments noted, i wouldn't have an issue with the Marina zone as it's do-able, and the Prince also had a scheduled shuttle to the beach, but my preference would be to be a bit more centrally located if given the choice (and budget wasn't a factor... which it usually is :) ) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Richard Elgar
Just to add to the discussion a bit, I'm going back to Oahu, and will be booking a hotel for a few days in mid-March. We stayed at the Hawaii Prince last year, and I loved it. All the rooms face the ocean, and it's a very short walk to the beach in front of the Hilton, and there's a super cheap breakfast place across the street. The only thing I don't like is the $30 per night parking, but that's hard to avoid in Waikiki, so I think I'm going to wait for it to come down to about $130 on HOTWIRE (sorry, I know this is a PRICELINE thread!), and just go for it I think! Richard Elgar
So I'm noticing that there's currently (although it does fluctuate) a $20 price difference between the two ways to book on Hot.wire. It's cheaper using Rate.Drop. Do you guys still get the credit from RateDrop? Thanks Richard Link to comment
thereuare
Rate.drop is our site/service as well so we get credit thru there as well. Thanks for asking and using the board links (or RateDrop or BiddingHelper.com) for your travel purchases. Let us know whatever you end up with or how we can be of further help.
