mmhassa2
Hoping to get some guidance as to how I can bid to get a hotel approx under $100/night and as close to the beach/pier as possible. 2 Adults 2 ChildrenMarch 15-17 2015 Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
Note that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. If this is not a risk you're willing to accept, HOTWIRE would still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc) If you're willing to take the occupancy risk and want to proceed with PRICELINE, which zone(s) are you willing to accept and what is your desired star rating? mmhassa2
Yes willing to take the bed risk. I'm not really familiar with the area but would like to be as close to the beach/pier as possible with our limited budget. Also willing to go upto $125/night with a min 2.5-3* ideally. thereuare
If you use our BiddingHelper.com tool and search for 'Panama Beach, FL'... look at the PRICELINE tab and let us know which zones are 'close enough to the beach' where you are willing to stay anywhere within the zone boundaries? mmhassa2
Would like in this order... Zone 6, 4,1,5 Link to comment
thereuare
The zone numbers will change any time that PRICELINE adds, removes, or renames the zones... to avoid any confusion (both now and in the future) please list the zones that you are willing to accept. As well, are you willing to pay more to stay in your first choice of zone vs. your second choice vs. your third choice, etc, etc... OR is the goal the least expensive 2.5*/3* or better in any of these zones. Lastly, what is more of a priority, star rating or location? If you try for your first choice of zone at the 3* and are rejected, do you then want to try for a 2.5* in that zone OR do you prefer a 3* in your next choice of zone? Please confirm the above and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. mmhassa2
Zone 6: Panama City Beach South 4: Panama City Beach - Upper Grand Lagoon 1: Delwood Beach 5: Panama City Beach North - Laguna Beach As all the above locations are preferred (and are on the beachline) I guess I would prefer to move to the next location but still trying to get the best rating/star possible. I hope that makes sense? Link to comment
thereuare
Not really clear enough to provide a bidding strategy, so i took deeper look at these dates and i think your budget chance for something within your budget is going to be a 3* or better in the Delwood Beach zone (where you can likely get a 3.5* hotel). So here are some options and you can let us know how you would like to proceed: 1) if you like the idea of a higher rated hotel, you can start by trying for a 3.5* (currently only the Delwood Beach zone offers 3.5* or higher rated properties) 2) try for the least expensive 3* or better in your first 3 zone choices 3) try first for a 3* in the Beach South zone, if rejected try for the highest rated 2.5* in the Beach South or Upper Lagoon zone, if rejected try for a 3.5* (or 3*) in the Delwood Beach zone Let us know your thoughts/questions and we'll advise accordingly. mmhassa2
Thanks yes the higher star is important and if it means in Delwood, I'm OK with that. Please suggest the way I can get a 3+ start in that area. Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
Sorry, i'm still not clear as to which route you'd like to take... Did you want to first try for a 3.5* in the Delwood up to $125/nite... or are you looking for the least expensive 3* or better in the Panama City Beach South, Panama City Beach - Upper Grand Lagoon, or Delwood Beach zones? Please confirm and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
