flying52
Thinking about Borgata or Caesars...not sure what star ratings they have.I thinking about $50-60 max. Is this reasonable? Link to comment
thereuare
The highest star rating offered in Atlantic City is 3*... and the Sheraton, which is off the boardwalk, is a 3* hotel in the zone. In other words, not sure if Priceline is going to be your best option in this instance if you want to ensure something centrally located. flying52
So Priceline does not include places like Borgata or Caesars in AC???Do you know where I should look into for these hotels??? Link to comment
dahammer
did you check the Caesars and Borgata website????what rates are being offered for your dates of travel???? Link to comment
flying52
Borgata $329 vs. Caesars $109I heard that Borgata is so much nicer, but way out of my budget, tooAnyone knows about promo codes or anything like that? Or, should I look into other hotels? It's my first time to AC, so little lost. Link to comment
thereuare
If you are a gambler and 'rated' (have a players club card at any other casinos, especially Las Vegas casinos) you can call and ask for a casino rate. If you really do gamble (5+ hours per day $10-$25 minimum hand or play slots for 4+ hours a day) you can also call the hotels and ask to speak to a casino host. Tell them your level of play (be honest, don't lie about it) and that you'd like to come down to see their property on 12/24 and what kind or rate they can offer you.Other than that, if the Caesar's rate is cancellable i would book that now and keep that as a back-up as it has a good 'center boardwalk' location. If you're just looking to save money you can book the HOLIDAY INN Boardwalk for $86/nite, but imo Caesars is worth the extra $25. There are jitneys which are not that comfortable or fast, but will get you to the area around the Borgota for maybe $2 or so (there may be other options too, such as Showboat to Trump Castle for free since (i believe) both are owned by Trump) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
dahammer
what appears to be the Holiday Inn is available on Hotwire for $94, this is shown as a 3* with the following amenities: Oceanfront, Near Beach, Restaurant, Pool, Tennis, Business Center. The Holiday Inn website has this property for $86, so if you are successful with a double the difference claim, your rate will be reduced by $24. What appears to be the Sheraton is also available for $94, this is a 3.5* customer favorite. The Sheraton is adjacent to the convention center at 2 Miss America Way (will they rename this street now that the Pagent is going to Las Vegas?) and the Holiday Inn is Oceanfront, right on the Boardwalk. Don't forget to stop at the White House for one of the best Hoagies/Subs. :) Link to comment
thereuare
If using the Double the Difference on the Holiday Inn i think the rate only goes down by $16, so you save $8 by booking on Hotwire, but this would almost all be eliminated by their booking fee, so i would just book on the Holiday Inn website if going that route. flying52
Bid rejected for 3* Atlantic city at $53....What should be my max and stay reasonable??? Link to comment
thereuare
If you're not successful with Priceline... what is your back-up plan? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
flying52
$61 rejected...Maybe Sheraton @$89 as a backup Link to comment
thereuare
I think the rate at the Sheraton is a good one... all you can do is gradually increase you bid, making sure you don't bid more than what the Sheraton will end up costing you (don't forget about taxes and fees). dahammer
It kind of depends on what you are looking for in your stay....The Borgata is a beautiful property, brand new but it is in the "inlet" part of Atlantic City. The Hilton is at the far south end of the "boardwalk" properties and it is a little easier if you want to hop from casino to casino. But since your stay is only one night, and at $110, the Borgata looks like a steal.....then again, you can use the $45 in savings at the AC Hilton to increase your gambling purse.... Link to comment
