I am trying to get a hotel in the Old San Juan/ Condado area for 2 nights pre-cruise (May 23rd) and Priceline Express Deal has 31/2* one at $89/night. What hotel is this and is this a reasonable deal?

To clarify, are is your hotel stay 5/21-5/23 or from 5/23-5/25 (i'm not sure if 5/23 is your check-in date OR your embarkation date)

I searched for 5/23-5/25 and see a property with the amenity set above... a hotel with this amenity set has not yet been reported to the board, but my guess for this one would be the Radisson Ambassador Plaza Hotel and Casino, with a secondary guess of the Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel and Casino.

If the dates you need are 5/21-5/23 let us know and we will have a look at those dates, as the amenities above are common for the area so even if the same amenity set it could be a different property being offered.

The hotel stay will start on 05/21 (our cruise departs on Sat 05/23).

This morning that express deal has disappeared. I wonder if hotel booking is cheaper on weekdays (similar to the airfares)?

There is no best time of the week or time of the day to make your hotel purchase... to many other variables (mostly changes in supply/demand of rooms at the hotel).

On a side note, I also have found no pattern for airfare, and i think the day of the week theories (of which i've heard reasons why every day of the week is the 'best') doesn't hold true anymore either. It may have been viable 10-15 years ago, but the processing power of computers has increased the sophistication of airfare revenue models, along with the power of the internet, has changed the airfare distribution and their pricing as well.
