Priceline Hotel: san diego any * on new years

i was just curious if anyone had thoughts on priceline chances for any star hotel on new years eve near downtown san diego. not a necessity that i need a hotel room, but would be nice to stay near downtown instead of driving far away.

I just posted a win for $41 ... 3* Holiday Inn Mission Valley ... very decent Holiday inn ... however, bit of a trip to downtown.

Looks like you might be able to pick up a 3* on Priceline for $50-$60 in the downtown/airport area. I think it would be the airport area you win.

If you let us know how much you're willing to bid, and the minimum star rating, we will suggest a strategy for you to try. Is the Downtown zone the only zone you are willing to bid?

i would be willing to stay in a 1 star hotel because i simply need a place to crash for the night. i have a place to stay at a friends house in del mar, but im concerned that its too far from any parties or bars in downtown, ocean beach, or pacific beach. i found on hotwire a 42$ 2 star hotel (kitchenette and laundry facilities) in mission valley/hotel circle and a 53$ 2 star (pool) in mission bay/sea world area. any ideas what these places are? the mission valley 3* priceline win that was posted is a little farther than id like, although it sounds like a great grab. so, id probably be willing to be up to 45$ on priceline, although i noticed that they had 1* options in san diego, but couldnt find any 1* priceline hotels on this site in san diego.

The 2* Hotwire hotel above matches the Homestead San Diego Mission Valley; the 3* above matches the Hilton San Diego Airport/Harbor Island... those would be our best guesses for each.
