I bid on Priceline $75-$150 5* strip north 5/9/14-5/14/14. Not successful

Looks like there might be a 8000 person convention 5/12-15 at Caesars. Do you think this would prevent me from getting all 5 nights?

The average retail price over 5 nights is $258. However nights of 12th and 13th spike at $317 and $368

There seemed to be an error in the section when entering my bid amount, the red window next to this said the median price is $84??

8K for Las Vegas is not much, but combine it with the 17.5K convention that starts May 14th (and most will arrive the nite before) and you have a crowd that would likely effect hotel demand.

I'm seeing different hotels/prices than what you have posted above when searching your complete stay (5/9-5/14)... are you searching for more than one room or something other than the default 2adults/0children? Are you willing to pay $170-$200 at this or would you first try bidding higher on PRICELINE?

What prices/amenities do you see?

I am only searching 1 room 2 adults, however when I tried searching again just now and error page comes up and no results are displayed.

I would prefer bidding a little higher again rather than the 170 Hotwire. What do you think it would take for a win? Would I be better off splitting dates or would I end up stuck for the nights of 12/13?

The palazzo and Venetian have nightly rates of $229 plus tax for each of the nights.

Thanks for the hotwire help.

I bid unsuccessfully up to $150 5/9/14-5/14/14 5* strip nprth.

What do you think it would take for a win? (<Hotwire $170)

Would I be better off splitting dates, starting with 5/9/14-5/12/14? (<Hotwire $155)

or would I end up stuck for the nights of 12/13 if there is a large convention 5/14?

$25 resort fee

$152/night The Strip - North area Casino Hotel would be Venetian I would assume?

I bid from $75 to $156 on Price.line, declining counter offers at $142, $149, $154 (to bid again up $49 to $191). Not successful

Happy with Hot.wire $151 The Palazzo, as yesterday it was $171, and Palazzo website $229 and Price.line retail $258

(Would have been $135/night if my dates were shorter checking out on 5/12)

Just in case this information is helpful for anyone else, usually with a booking I have made through priceline bidding or hotwire I email the hotel in advance requesting two double beds and my request has always been considered and each time I have received a room with double beds at no extra cost. However when I emailed the Palazzo a room with double beds would cost an additional $30/night plus 12% tax.

The Venetian Bella suite (2 Queens, 700 sq. ft.) is available at an upgrade fee of $30.00 plus 12% tax per night and is collected at the time of check-in.

Thanx for the update.

This is the typical upgrade price for Palazzo and Venetian... even if booked direct with the hotel a room with two beds costs more than a room with just one bed.

Enjoy your stay and good luck!
