yellowdog
I'm sorry to say that a 5* property with this amenity combo has not yet been reported/ID'd to the board. Best guess would be The Hay-Adams Hotel or Willard InterContinental. Keep us updated on your progress and let us know what you ultimately decide or if we can be of further help. thereuare
If i can throw my guess into the ring, i think the The Hay-Adams would be the most likely for this one. AaronJB
My guess is that this may be the Loews Madison. (just to confirm, are you searching for 2 rooms and 8 people total? When searching for 2 rooms, 4 people total, I'm seeing a different and significantly cheaper listing.) Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. stanleycjc
Hi , i am searching for 2 rooms for 4 guests only. Link to comment
AaronJB
Interesting - when searching for 2 rooms with 2 adults in each room (4), I'm seeing a 4.5* in this zone for $135 w/smoke-free, fitness, business, restaurant, internet. stanleycjc
Yes, i saw that $135 hotel too. But also there is one $233 hotel with 4.5*. I thought they are different hotels, the $233 hotel should be better. Link to comment

I thought they are different hotels, the $233 hotel should be better. Not necessarily. When searching on HOTWIRE, it's not unusual for a 3* to be more expensive than a 4* - hotels price independently and more expensive does not necessarily mean better. I am now seeing the $235 and the $135 4.5*'s in the zone now, not sure why I wasn't this morning. I do continue to believe that the more expensive was the Loews Madison. The cheaper hotel may be the W Hotel or Sofitel Layfayette Square, although I'd lean more towards the W. If you do believe the potential $235 hotel is better, the question becomes "is the potential hotel that's $235 worth the extra $100 per night"? If you believe the 4.5* priced $100 less is a better option than the 4.5* at $235, then all the better. You also have to ask how much time you are going to spend in the hotel. Let us know your thoughts and if you have additional questions. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
thereuare
Not necessarily. When searching on HOTWIRE, it's not unusual for a 3* to be more expensive than a 4* - hotels price independently and more expensive does not necessarily mean better. To further expand upon AaronJB's comments, take this example of TWO HOTELS in the same zone: HOTEL A: 100 rooms total at the hotel has a large wedding booked on a Saturday nite (with many out of town guests staying over) also has a company conference taking place at the hotel over the same dates --> as a result of the above, the hotel is nearly fully booked and 96 of their 100 rooms are booked HOTEL B: 100 rooms total at the hotel no events taking place at the hotel for the same dates as HOTEL A above --> as a result of the above, the hotel has only 35 of their 100 rooms booked In the example above, Hotel A would price their rooms very high and near rack rate, whereas Hotel B is trying to book more rooms and will set prices very aggressively... all of this is done with no reflection as to the quality of either property. stanleycjc
Thank you both, yes, i agree. I will keep looking for hotel in D.C. So far I still think the 5* $264 per night is a little bit high, i will wait for some days. Link to comment

jordansbulls
Do hotels at times take themselves off of the mystery hotel? This is the only thread I have seen where someone mentions they have the Hay Adams. Link to comment
