pnoake
Started bidding on Saturday night for a 4* for Sunday night in MTW and Downtown looking to get either the Millenium Hilton or the Hilton Times Square for ~$120. I failed at $120 and $125, so I waited until Sunday morning to begin bidding again. I added MTE and bid again at $125 and got the Hilton Times Square on the first try. Best rate available on the Hilton website for this hotel is $399 per night.I am fully aware that I cannot bid on specific hotels, however I know from experience that bidding for 4* on the same day in MTW or DT can often secure one of the Hilton Hotels for $120. I suspect I overbid by $5, but I'm still very happy with the outcome as we are off to see a Broadway show at 3pm.4* Hilton Times SquareMidtown West1 night Sunday 6 Nov 05Room $125Taxes $28.14Total $153.14 Link to comment
dave
Excellent deal but very risky for out of town travellers without a cancellable backup. Just curious if you had any alternative plans if bidding didn't work out (e.g. hotels full)? Link to comment

pnoake
I'm north of Philly, just 1hr 10 mins by train to Penn Station.Backups were either come home on the train after the show, or $178 for 4* Downtown on Hotwire.com which would have been the Millenium Hilton ... its pretty easy to spot on Hotwire.Pete Link to comment
