Hotwire Hotel: Why do fares increase from the 2nd week of September on?

I'm looking for a 5-star hotel in Vegas in the Strip for the next two months but I noticed that fares increase brutally from the 2nd week of September on...

Does it happen because the date is more than a month ahead and it's supposed to decrease or fares level for that date must remain as it is now?

If airfare let us know where it is that you are traveling from and what rates you're seeing and what you expect them to be.

If you're referring to hotel rates, it's likely because summer is slow season in Vegas due to the extreme heat. Demand, and therefore rates, increase as you head into the more moderate temperatures of August.

Dear all,

I'm looking for a 5-star-hotel rates in the 2nd week of September (9th to 15th) in the Vegas South Strip and my budget is US 170 per night, excluding fees.

As of today, fares for that week are almost the double they used to be the weeks before- better climate is the explanation or should I believe that fares will drop a little in the next days due to the proximity of the date?

I havent been following that week, but its been my experience that tight supply hotel room weeks only get tighter as the date approaches

there is a big concert 3rd weekend and the 4th weekend there is a big car auction so that probably increases some rates.

There is a huge fight (Floyd Mayweather vs Canelo Alvarez)at the MGM on 9/14. One of the biggest events of the year, and it's already set a bunch of live gate records - prices that weekend are sky high.
