I am thinking Cavelier in which case I would probably pass ...

It also said it has a 3/5 rating from trip advisor.

But 80% seems high!

I did find a 3* for $136 for June 25th - 27th that has a 3.5 rating on Trip Advisor &

A 90% HOTWIRE approval.

I am seeing this property when searching for your dates and my guess would be the Cavalier Hotel as well.

If nothing else of interest is offered on PRICELINE you can also try our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com which makes it easy to see hotels in a specific location as well as how much more/less it would cost to go up/down in star rating OR to stay closer/further from your desired location.

Searching for a higher rated hotel may give you something more inline with what you're looking for.

If not, using MAPS and HOTELS.com is there anything offered at a reasonable rate thru 'retail' rates?

FWIW I stayed in the Cavalier last july 4th and 5th with a discount rate.

I was in the old hotel on the hill. I loved every minute there.

The room was perfect, it had been renovated fairly recently.

I loved the old vintageness of the hotel and it's artwork and architecture.

Parking was not really an issue, sometimes we found a close spot and other times a short walk through the lot.

The breakfast was also good to very good.

I did not spend any time in the newer hotel across the street.

I loved the place so much that I booked 5 nights there starting July 16th.

However they called me today and said the hotel on the hill was going to be renovated during the time I was to stay in july.

So they offered to move me to the newer place next to the ocean for the same rate.

I am not really thrilled about that much at all, I was really looking forward to going back to the old hotel.

So now I am shopping again.
