I checked the area lists for Hotwire in Chicago and can't find this exact zone name "Downtown Chicago - Millennium Park - Grant Park." Rate $111. 6/26-7/2.

I think this might be the Palmer House Hilton but am not certain. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not currently seeing this property offered when searching HOTWIRE for your dates... are you still seeing the above on your own search? If so, are you searching HOTWIRE for more than one room or for more than the default 2adults/0children?

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

I'm seeing this listing for these date/s, but at $196. This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but I'd guess it may be a new amenity set for the Hilton Towers.

I'm also seeing what appears to be the Felix for $139, Allerton for $137 and an unID'd 4* in the Gold Coast (possibly the Public?) for $149. Lastly, I'll also note that the 6/30-7/2 period is also noticeably cheaper when viewed separately. There may be some moderate benefit to your overall per night average if you are willing to split your stay.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

I was uncertain whether to start a new thread or not for my update.

Thanks AaronJB for mentioning that rates fluctuated during the dates I originally wanted to book for Chicago. After a whole lot of bidding and rejections on PRICELINE, our bid of $96 for a 4 1/2 star was accepted at the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower (6/30-7/2). I'm pleased with the result. For the other nights, we decided not to use an opaque site since there was a specific hotel we wanted to try. We linked through this portal to make the PRICELINE reservation. Thanks for the help.

REALLY, REALLY nice win for the Sofitel. This is in a lovely location a block or two just West of the Michigan Ave. area - a wide variety of restaurants nearby. Let us know if you have any city questions. In terms of breakfast, Original Pancake House (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/original-pancake-house-chicago?select=lsKfK2KGBJQkOw5dEBpdLA#lsKfK2KGBJQkOw5dEBpdLA) isn't too far a stroll to the North.

Enjoy your stay.
