Priceline Hotel: Won bid before resort fee instituted - Any chance of recourse?

I bid and won 7 hotel nights in June at the Southpoint Hotel and Casino. This was back in January when I found out about a family function and wanted to get the hotel figured out early. When I bid, I made decisions based upon possible hotels in area and knowing resort fees were not charged for the specific hotels. Since then (on March 1st, to be exact), the hotel has instituted a $14/day resort fee. Do you think I have a case to the hotel or to the credit card company to have the fee waived or refunded since there was no indication of such fee when I won the bid for the rooms? Is there any precedent on this as a search has not brought any useful information? Since 7 nights = $98 in fees, it may be worth it to give it a fight. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Hmm not 100% but sometimes if you booked before they announced it you are fine... But I'd call them and ask, and tell them your situation. I'd deal with South Point directly. I don't think you'd win a credit card company fight, because they will clearly tell you that you have to pay it when you arrive.

Please start with posting your PRICELINE win for Southpoint Hotel so all members can gain from the information.

And please provide a follow-up for your prior priceline Chicago thread (post in that thread what you decided for that stay), then reply to this thread and we'll be happy to look into the above. Please follow-up your threads with whatever you end up doing, even if you chose to book direct, cancel your trip, etc.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

While we welcome both positive and negative experiences, please keep in mind that the spirit of this message board is helping users.

If you have a complaint, problem, or question with a recent or upcoming Priceline/Hotwire stay, we will be happy to do what we can to help, but please be considerate of the board's primary goal of helping others and first post the details of your 'win.'

It would be appreciated if you followed-up your threads and posted your results as you make a decision or receive a win... not just when you have a problem or need help.
