DrMarci
305$ seems to be the cheapest for a full size car for the week. My parents are concerned with using hotwire in a foreign country, especially in Mexico. I'll read thru some postings, but do you know of successful rentals in Mexico (where people haven't encountered problems)? Link to comment
thereuare
I'm not sure of their concern... i'm not aware of any 'foreign country' specific problems. Once a car rental is purchase and the issuing company known, they can call and confirm that their reservation is in the system and take care of any issues (although i doubt there will be any) before they leave. DrMarci
I know...you are right. so, any suggested strategies for getting a mid sized for less than 300$? Ideally 200$ with unlimited mileage. Link to comment
thereuare
I'm doubtful you'll be successful near your target amount of $200, but do the math and back-out the taxes and fees and try to beat your best deal.Hotwire comes in at about $335.Are you putting 6 adults and an infant in one mid-size car?!?! DrMarci
Sorry for the looong delay! In the end, my parents weren't comfortable with using the internet. We ended up renting directly from Dollar (they have a pick-up location right at the airport). We rented one compact and one mid-size car for 7 days for a total of about $500. Link to comment
