blahblehblah
1 Night in Vegas On the way to/from Grand canyon. Will probably need 3 Queen Beds at minimum (2 rooms)...6 people...Family. Everyone's an adult though.Would like to stay near the action as it's the first time I'm bringing the family to Vegas. We require non-smoking rooms.Any recommendations? I can get government rates and see the Tropicana for $129+taxes/resort fees on Saturday night (1 King room). I assume they don't care about Hilton Status at that location. Not sure If I can change rooms via a phone call and what not.The embassy suites in Swenson is $99 but believe that's a bit too far from the experience of Vegas.Budget = CHEAP AS POSSIBLE but GOOD Quality! Preferably no more than $100. We will have a car so not sure how parking works either. Link to comment

blahblehblah
Done...Looking for something Tropicana quality and upwards. Wouldn't mind a 3 star hotel though if it lands me a decent rate. Just need something decent and not run down looking. Have a couple of seniors in the group. Landing a nicer hotel may help with getting discounted show tickets, meals, etc. so open to all suggestions. If I were to bid, I guess I'd probably target 4* upwards. Link to comment
yellowdog
blahblehblah,Will probably need 3 Queen Beds at minimum (2 rooms)...6 peopleNote that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, which means you may receive a room with only one bed and the hotel could assign you a room with only one bed. You could request a room with two beds, but the hotel could be unable, or unwilling, to accommodate your request... or charge an additional fee if they are willing to accommodate you request. In this case would I say that HOTWIRE is a better route for you. HOTWIRE guarantees sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search... this often means two beds in the room, but the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway brought into the room, etc.Let us know your thought around this and we'll go from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog. blahblehblah
I don't mind HOTWIRE; however, I've found their prices pretty expensive at first glance. Don't mind the vegas $20 trick to get the double bed if necessary. I know it doesn't always work, but if the price is right on PRICELINE, I'd be willing to gamble that I may end up with just 1 bed. Either or...or both! Link to comment

MurtleCake
I would say bid 4 star. Almost none of the 5 star hotels have 2 double beds... if you are going to bid just make sure people would be ok with sharing king beds. Otherwise I wouldn't risk it.You can always check a site like Smartervegas.com and look at promo codes. Maybe look at something like Luxor? Also don't forget to factor in the "resort fees"Also if it's on a Friday or Saturday night it's really hard to get something for under $100 Link to comment

yellowdog
blahblehblahWe can't predict the hotels when you're bidding on PRICELINE And you should start lower than $99 if you're going to use the bidding side. Just let us know what you decide for and we'll help you with a bidding strategy if you want to go that route. All reported PRICELINE hotels can be found in this link: Las Vegas Priceline hotelsYou can also look at the deals for PRICELINE EXPRESS Yellowdog. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. AaronJB
If the above $99 is a pricebreaker deal, there is no way to know which hotel may be "behind the curtain". I'd consider trying Name Your Own Price at lower price points for a 4* North Strip and seeing if you could get lower than what the Pricebreaker deal is offering.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
