AaronJB
This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but my guess is that it may be the Hotel Lincoln. There is no easy way to get to the Congress - I would definitely take a cab there and back.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. cokegirl
if it is hotel lincoln, is this a good area for young people or would we be better with the loop or mag mile? thanks again for your help and sorry for the repeat post earlier. Link to comment
AaronJB
Lincoln Park/Lakeview is largely an area of 20-30 somethings, and has a wide variety of boutique-y/thrift stores, as well as a great selection of restaurants. The Zoo is right there, as well. The other issue becomes getting to the Congress, and I think you're looking at a somewhat shorter taxi trip there if you stay in Lincoln Park vs downtown. It's a neighborhood and has more of a neighborhood feel - the Old Town neighborhood (the famed Second City theater) is also nearby. That said, if downtown would be more appealing to the group, looking at HOTWIRE the downtown hotels are very similarly priced. Let us know if downtown would be of more interest. Please keep us updated and let us know if you have any additional questions.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. I'll also note some of the buildings in the Zoo are quite historic (the Zoo is actually kind of an interesting mix of brand new buildings and historic/older facilities.) One of Frank Lloyd Wright's early works is also not far, in the residential section of the Gold Coast neighborhood to the South (http://www.sah.org/about-sah/charnley-persky-house) I'd definitely see the Zoo - it's really, really close (the park is across the street, and then the South end of the zoo isn't far into the park.) Nookies around the corner on Wells (1746 N Wells) is a good breakfast option. Again, I'd definitely take a cab to/from the Congress.Enjoy your stay. Link to comment
