Started at $100 using Strip North. Added Strip south at 120, won Vdara at $125.

Dreading the visit as the reviews are mixed.

I don't think you have anything to be disappointed in... this is a very nice hotel and a great deal at $125/nite for a stay that includes a Friday nite. No matter how nice a property is there will likely be a few negative reviews, and that is the case here... the vast majority of the reviews i have read are overwhelmingly positive.
