Good afternoon,

Apologies in advance if this is the incorrect place to put this, I'm new the site.

My wife and I, and another couple, are staying in Seattle the nights of August 17th and 18th.

We'd like a minimum 3.5* hotel with walking distance of Pike Place/Stadium District/Downtown.

An initial bid of $100 on a 4-Star in either Pike Place or Downtown bididng area was turned down. I will rebid using the PRICELINE link provided, but any ideas or tips for finding a decent price?

Thanks!

I assume you're only bidding the Pike Place zone? (if you're also bidding Space Needle post back before trying the strategy below)...

At the 3.5* level in Seattle you have TEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 3.5* Pike Place...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $150

If you wanted to exhaust your options and make sure you're not leaving anything on the table you could try the above at the 4* level, then if rejected close the browser, use the board PRICELINE link to re-access PRICELINE, and try the above as posted at the 3.5* level.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

  • 1 year later...

As a follow-up, at that time of year, rooms in Seattle were quite expensive, and booking separate rooms was going to be pricy.

We therefore decided to share a room at "Silver Cloud Inn" Lake Union.  The property offered a suite with a separate bedroom, and we decided this was the best option.  The only downside is that the one bathroom was only accessible by entering the bedroom.

The hotel wasn't really close to downtown, but offered a complimentary shuttle.

We booked directly through the hotel's website, I believe, as we decided we'd like the assurance of cancellation in case our plans changed or we found a better price elsewhere.

All things considered, we were satisfied with our choice.
