Priceline Hotel: 4* San Francisco Financial District-Embarcadero help

Been bidding on Priceline (always linking from this site, of course) for a 4-star hotel in the Financial District-Embarcadero sector July 25-28. Want that area because my wife is attending a conference at the Hilton Financial District. I have a reservation there, made directly with the hotel so I'd have something, at $296 plus tax. It can be canceled 24 hours in advance. Latest bid I made was $165, and it was turned down. I've seen 4-stars in the sector obtained for far less even during the week this summer, but I realize that rates can vary widely by date in SF, given conferences, big events, etc. And Hotwire shows a 3-star in the same sector for $257 for the same dates. I'm willing to go up to about $200 with Priceline (above that I'd probbly keep the Hilton reservation so I know we'd be at the hotel where the meeting is).

My question: do you think anything from $170-$200 is realistic? I'd like to get this settled by Friday, so am considering upping my bid by $10 to $175 tomorrow (normally I'd increase the bid by $5 each time).

At current rates i don't think that $200 will likely be enough, but you can/should still give it a try, but i'd raise your bid now and not necessarily wait until the end of the week.

If you want to give it a try, at the 4* level in San Francisco you have SEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.
