thereuare
I believe this is peak season in the area and you're looking to check-in on a Saturday, which in addition to very high rates, may be contributing to the difficulty in scoring a win for these nites.Using MAPS and HOTELS.com and/or BiddingHelper.com what is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. crito
You probably realize this already (maybe this is why you're going), but you're hitting the Newport Reggae Festival dates. Link to comment

thereuare
$180 was the highest I was hoping to go.$419 a night is the going rate. With rates at $400+, and the new news of the Reggae Festival (thanks crito), $180 has a low chance of success. Although there is more margin for hotels to discount when rates go higher, it is indicative of a period of strong demand and there is less for hotels to do so. You're more likely to see a deep discount when a hotel is $200 vs. when the same hotel is $400... even though there is more profit in the $400 room for the hotel to discount.Based upon the above what is your current gameplan? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
