I believe this is peak season in the area and you're looking to check-in on a Saturday, which in addition to very high rates, may be contributing to the difficulty in scoring a win for these nites.

Using MAPS and HOTELS.com and/or BiddingHelper.com what is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels?

$180 was the highest I was hoping to go.

$419 a night is the going rate.

With rates at $400+, and the new news of the Reggae Festival (thanks crito), $180 has a low chance of success. Although there is more margin for hotels to discount when rates go higher, it is indicative of a period of strong demand and there is less for hotels to do so. You're more likely to see a deep discount when a hotel is $200 vs. when the same hotel is $400... even though there is more profit in the $400 room for the hotel to discount.

Based upon the above what is your current gameplan?
