Does anyone have any experience using Priceline's express deals? I just noticed this feature.

I am trying to book the Wynn/Encore/Venetian/Pallazzo for the nights of 7/7 & 7/8. Here is what Priceline is offering for $131 per night express deal:

LAS VEGAS STRIP NORTH AREA

-Indoor or Outdoor Pool

-Free Parking

-Restaurant

-Business Center

-Casino

-Fitness Center

There is also a resort fee of $22.40 per night. I'm thinking its Pallazo, but at $131 it's almost to good to be true.

The Express Deals section of PRICELINE is still very new so we're still learning/observing this side of their service.

I would agree that it is most likely one of the four hotels you've listed, but as each offers all the amenities indicated, there is no way to determine which is more likely than the others.

Is there a reason you're not looking to bid on PRICELINE to best the $131 rate (and if not successful up to $131 then take this 'express' offer)?

When I saw the $131 express deal, I actually tried bidding to see if I could get it cheaper. I bid $119 for 5* North Strip Zone. The message popped up saying they could not accept my bid, but if I was willing to bid $139 they would accept it. I did not bid again because I am not too good with picking zones and figured $131 was cheaper anyway.

Any suggestions about bidding differently? I'm leaning towards the $131 express deal. Do you know of any 5* in the North Area I might get that aren't Wynn/Encore/Palazzo/Venetian? My main goal is to get any of those four only. Thanks!

Ok, I ended up doing some bidding based on info I saw on another post. I bid $121 per night for 7/7 & 7/8 and clicked the North Las Vegas Strip Zone. It was rejected again so I added the Boulder Strip Zone and bid $123 per night. This was accepted and I ended up winning the Palazzo (which was my first preference from the start). I am VERY happy to get this hotel at this price. Here is the breakdown:

Room Subtotal: $246.00

Taxes and Fees: $41.16

Total Room Cost: $287.16

Hi, Congrats on winning your bid. I just had a question does it show you what kind of room you got? Did you get a single bed or a double bed? Did you call ahead and reserve the type of room you wanted. I'm also trying to bid for Palazzo for 8/24 - 8/26. I would like to get a double bed room. If anyone here has any experience with this pelease advise. Thanks for any help in advance.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Please start by reading your messages and clicking each of these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.

PRICELINE and HOTWIRE reservations are for 'standard' rooms and at most of the 5* Vegas properties 'standard' rooms have one King bed, and rooms with two beds cost more than rooms with just one bed in them. Some users have been upgraded just by asking, some have been charged an additional fee to do so, and some are unable to upgrade if the hotel is busy and unable to accommodate the request.

I only needed a single bed so I didnt bother calling the hotel. Priceline only guarantees single bed, though if you are one of the first batches of people to arrive at the hotel to check in, you probably wont have trouble requesting a double. Though I've noticed some places are charging more now for doubles. I think Hotwire has an option to guarantee double beds.

Also, The Palazzo/Venetion all have sofa beds so technically it's double bed I guess :)
