Hotwire Hotel: 5 Star on/near strip for 6 people???

I read that Hotwire, but not Priceline, allow the choice of multiple beds or larger rooms. The only 5-star available for my dates was Trump (pretty sure), which we do not want because there is no casino.

Has anyone had success with upgrading or getting larger rooms after booking through either Hotwire or Priceline?

HOTWIRE and PRICELINE reservations are for regular/non-upgraded rooms - a trade-off, given the discounts offered - while one can ask about upgrades at check-in, there are no guarantees and it may depend on the day and who you talk to. You may also pay an upgrade fee.

PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy; HOTWIRE guarantees some form of bedding for the amount of people you select - if more than 2, you should get bedding for the party. There is no guarantee of exact bed type (2 beds, 1 + sofa, etc.) A number of instances have been reported to the board where PRICELINE users with a party of more than 2 have used the service, then have been charged an extra fee to upgrade to 2 beds. As noted though, there's no guarantee of whether you'll even be offered the option.

If you need assistance with you stay, please provide the desired budget per night and the number of rooms and guests you need.

You might wish to book directly a 2 BR suite at the MGM Signature. These also come with a convertible Queen Sofa bed, that I have slept on and it's a good quality mattress. I would add that, while the rooms at the MGM Signature are definitely 5* quality, the service is not up to that level, like it is at Wynn, or Bellagio, or Cosmopolitan.
