Hotwire Hotel: 3* Fort Lauderdale (Hollywood International Airport FLL) Hyatt House Fort Lauderdale Airport South

I have been reading what others have bid and received for a hotel in the 3-star Priceline zones 3 (airport north) and 4 (airport). Some have won with a bid as low as $60 for an April stay. We want one room, Fri., April 27. With a series of 3 attempts, I went as low as 2.5 star and up to $72. No luck. Any suggestions as to how high I should bid? We would like that 3-star Hyatt Pl. South that 2 others bidders have won, as we've stayed there before. What might we get for a 2.5 star (Priceline) hotel?

Thank you!

I suspect you're not too far off from a win at the 3* level... perhaps within another $10 or so. Is there a reason you're also not including the Downtown zone in your bidding, as this zone typically works well for more cruisers.

HOTWIRE has a 3* hotel in the Airport zone for $87/nite which i'm guessing is the Summerfield Suites (now the Hyatt House)... would this be of any interest?

Also, you may be interested in our companion site: Pre Cruise Hotels which makes it very easy to see which hotels are closest to the pier, how much more/less it would cost to go higher/lower in star rating OR stay closer/further from the pier.

Best of luck with bidding, and thank you for keeping us updated.

When searching for this date, I'm seeing a 3* in the FLL airport zone w/Suite, Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf for $87 (the price you see may vary) - that amenity set has been previously seen with the Summerfield (now Hyatt House.) If you are seeing a listing with different amenities in that spot, please let us know before purchasing.

Thanks for everyone's help. I tried $80 with PRICELINE, rejected, so I went with HOTWIRE (and used your link) and their 3-star FLL airport zone hotel at $87. I got, as you predicted, the Hyatt Summerfield Suites. Prices are considerably higher than April 2010 - a disappointment, but we did leave mid-month then and not April 27. Still, better than paying the hotel website's prices. Thanks again; this website is an awesome resource.
