volcardfan
Will be traveling to Amsterdam for a long weekend. Never been to this area before, and have no idea where to start. Any suggestions for PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links? Prefer something in the center. Link to comment

brianc_li
There are very few 3* properties in Amsterdam on PL NYOP. You are better to stick with 4*.As has already been said you MUST stick to Zone 2 - City Center and Museum Quarter. If you use one of the other zones you could well end up in a boring suburb, miles from anywhere.Recently we have been seeing 4* properties in Amsterdam going in the $75-$100 range. As you are talking about a weekend in tulip season I'd expect you to be in the higher part of that range. My advice would be to start at $75 then work your way up $5 a day until you hit. volcardfan
Okay, great. Thank you for the info. At this point I'm not quite sure if this trip is definite. Will follow-up once I know for sure. Link to comment
Adeleg
Having lived in Europe for many years, just remember that what you know as a 3* hotel in the US (a good Holiday Inn, Comfort Suites, Best Western) may very well not be the same standards in Europe. Rooms are smaller as are bathrooms, and it is rare to find 2 double beds, it will either be one double or 2 twins. Link to comment
