biddingforhotel
I am glad to find out that it provides complimentary wireless High Speed Internet Access now; last time I was here, I paid $10 for the service, for the same $35 PL price, so it is in fact $10 cheaper this time, since the PL price still $35 ...Also, it provides complimentary Chinese newspaper World Journal, in addition to standard USA Today. This is 2nd hotel that I encountered doing so; it is great and convenient... I heard the hotel recently sold to Chineses owner Roger Cheng. There is also a Chinese Dim Sim restaurant down Rt 27 less than 1 mile, peoplpe from NYC Chinatown came to open this restaurant ... Last year I went, I saw tens of thousands of people came to this new events, and I was convinced Edison NJ is going to be the Chinatown of New Jersey ...Another good time to use this hotel is during Chinese New Year, there is a Chinese New Year Parade on the same street ... biddingforhotel
Yes, and some nice Korean restaurants and more other Chinese restaurants. one mile down Rt 27 south when passed Rt 529, you will see a huge Asian Food Center on the right hand side of Rt 27 that you can buy all kinds of fresh food and Asian food. There were even two Chinese banks. Next to which is a China Bowl restaurant which has great Chinese food, very typical, yet NYC Chinatown price ...If you do not pass Rt 529, instead turned left from Rt 27 to Rt 529 South, one mile ahead right before Rt 1 there is a great Hometown Buffet next to Pathmark shopping center. Many tourist groups ship their buses of tourists eat here, and the food is great too...If you go down Rt 27 South more, you will pass the bridge over Raritan River and entering New Brunswick, and Johnson Johnson Headquarter is on right hand side, left hand side is Hyatt New Brunswick. Go a bit further and park the car at Ferno Mall parking deck, you can walk around New Brunswick city and you will see dozens of nice restaurants to choose from.Across street of Ferno Mall which has the Rutgers University bookstore, is the College Campus of Rutgers University that has one of the two largest University Chinese libraries (the other one is in Princeton Univ). If you go down South Rt27, not passed the bridge over Raritan River, instead, make a right turn, you will see the road of nice view, on the left hand side is famous Johnson Park that has small zoo, river of ducks that your kids would love and feed. Last year it has 14,000 people showed up; this year may have twice more people... This year from 2pm to 10pm also ended with Fireworks!!! Link to comment
apkesh
:) I agree with everything said above, but be warned that if you book it through Priceline, chances are you are not going to get any special treatment that you would normally get when you book it direct. In my experience, I noticed some hotels like Marriott doesn't really don Link to comment

biddingforhotel
Very true, you do not get to select your room, however, I have been there many times, never hit any bad room... In fact, their rooms are all so big with many furniture, so ... In other hotels, they may give PL customers rooms at traffic area like next to elevator or ice machines, but I have found that is great for us because we do not stay at room all the time, so we use elevator 7 or 8 times each visit, besides, we always brought our blender to make icy, so we need lots of ice cubes! It is free and taste better than soft drinks normally go from $1.25 to $2 a can.But it is not the case for this hotel either, they always place us in less traffic spot for some reason. This front desk's staff can be easily pleased if you ask them questions like "btw, when is your restaurant open until for dinner?" "When is the breakfast hour?" At least, you may them feel you may spend some money at their restaurant. If they tell you "Breakfast is not free", then I would always answer, "yes, I know, that's why you have my credit card for incidental, right?" and they normally would be very happy to hear this.As to wireless card, I got it $5 at the stores and I have more than one portable. I got my high speed cable and router for hotels do not have wireless access. The only time you really feel bad is if you hit some hotel would insist to place you at smoking room, but, who cares, I got a air purifier, in 10 minutes, the room is fresh and clean ... I learn this from Wyndham Wilminton DE and that's professional practices. This hotel can sell their smoking room and non-smoking room interchangably.I guess you got hit because some PL customers are too picky, and some borrowed wireless card but did not return. $5 is not much if cutomer pay $129 a night, where as if hotel only make a few dollars from PL customers, then it could be a loss and you may not know the owner of this hotel Mr. Cheng is a Chinese. Chinese business man is very savvy and they normally would be able to tell if the customers are high maintenance or not right away, but this hotel is only two that I know give you free World Journal, the other one is Sheraton in Queens.Even if you pay $129 full price, you still do not get the same service as others who pay over $200 for Presidential Suites. I have tried many different combinations and learned which services I want to pay and which I really can not use or enjoy. That's why I said this hotel is great stay when there are Chinese Moon Festival or Chinese New Year Parade ...etc. In other time, I would just get my prospective tenants to live here when they have to wait for current tenants to move out... It doesn't make sense to reject a wonderful tenant working at Wall St making 6 digits just because his move in date is 2 weeks earlier than the move out day of my current tenant, right? And this hotel is perfect, because it has direct bus to New York City, and many of my IT consultant tenants from India for 6 month contract to start and do NOT have car and have to rent my condos that walk to Edison train station ... If I have to pay $129 for my prospective tenants for a few weeks, then I would have a loss of this $1250 a month rent for 1br condo, but this PL thing is fantastic, it is $35, so it works out just perfectly!!!!If you are wondering why my tips are always perfectly fit and unique, that's because, I went to Berkeley both under and graduate with straight A, I am kind of person want to get full score each time, no more, no less...
