We want to travel to NYC with our three children. We have no problem having our youngest sleep in the bed with us (unfortnately it happens all too often at home). Should I tell the hotel we are a party of fivve or just let them assume we are a party of four as most hotels seem to only offer rooms for four?

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

PRICELINE is definitely a risk, as the service only guarantees one bed/double occupancy. HOTWIRE is still a risk, as the service only guarantees four - while you may not have a problem, some hotels (especially in NYC, where rooms are small) may have a problem if a party of five is seen at check-in due to enforcing occupancy restrictions.

What would be your desired budget per night, date/s of travel and zone/s of interest?

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
