moshulu
Both hotels are 4*, listing with restaurant, fitness center and tennis nearby, and we needed 6/24 and 6/25/05. We tried booking two separate nights using two accts to take advantage of bonus $10 and $30 ent. rebate and somehow ended up with two different hotels for $94 (Hilton) and $98 (Westin)+fees $20.95 each. We knew it could happen but if the rebates are processed as expected this will bring the rates with all taxes down to $74 and $78 each. It would have been nicer to stay in one hotel but we gambled that it was the same hotel and this time it didn't work out; but you can't beat the rates. Presently, each hotel's respective websites are listing $149 and $139 (pre-tax)respectively. Link to comment
thereuare
Sorry it didn't go as planned, but that is the risk of splitting the purchase... essentially it comes down to is it worth $40 to change hotels? For some it's well worth it, for others not.Can you please start a NEW TOPIC for your second purchase (the Westin Embassy Row... you can just copy and paste the above post) so that we can keep the consistant format of one hotel win per topic title. Thanks! moshulu
We completed our stay this weekend. This hotel is a convention high volume property. It needs an update; it is tired and disappointing in appearance; the carpet is worn out and it smells of stale cigarettes. The bathroom was small, very dated and the faucets leaked. On the plus side, the location is great, and the bed was very comfortable and the room surprisingly spacious. Didn't try any of the amenities. For the DC area this isn't a bad deal, just more than I'd pay elsewhere for comparable quality. Link to comment
