nychuck
I often see 2-3 day wins. Are 3 week bids entertained/allowable? Looking in N.VA/DC begining 7/16. Budget $75Wife starting at State Dept, as outside contractor. Any discount information appreciated. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! You can bid up to 21 nites at a time on PRICELINE, but longer stays can often be more difficult to win then shorter stays since the hotel needs to have offered deeply discounted inventory to PRICELINE for the complete stay... if they have not offered inventory for just one nite within your date range, then that hotel is not a possibility to accept your bid.If you use the PRICELINE search box on the top right corner of this page, which zone(s) are you willing to accept? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
valencia
If amenities ( free breakfast or kitchenette, pool ) are important to you, you may like the Hotwire choices for most/part of your stay. Link to comment
Romelle
If you look at some site like Expedia (there is a link from here under the Support/Travel tab) you can see the individual day rates. If the rates tend to be totally flat, that is a sign that bidding the full 21 days might work. If the rates vary a lot, that suggests breaking things up into blocks of higher days and lower days. I'd guess your wife wouldn't want to move too often, and probably would prefer doing the moving on weekends? You can bid the 21 days, and if it isn't successful, you can bid 14/7, 7/14, 7/7/7. Or all sorts of other variations switching from a move on Saturday to a move on Sunday - 13/8, etc.You can bid every 24 hours, but if you start doing all sorts of date variations, it is best to wait until 24 hours after the very last thing you did, not some particular date range. You probably know about the PRICELINE extend feature, but thought I'd mention it. If you have a successful bid, sometimes Priceline offers you the privilege of extending the bid. Either days before your original bid, or days after, but not both. But only up to the number of days of the original bid. And not always at the same rate either. I've been allowed to extend at the original rate, but also recently was offered an extension at 50% more than the original rate. 3* hotels seem to be more likely to offer free breakfast than 4* hotels.Romelle Link to comment
