justagirl
I have used priceline & better bidding several times and looking at the recent winning bids, I felt confident I would get a bid accepted. I am hoping for the Crowne Plaza, but any of the 3.5* will do in the Garden Grove area or Anaheim North.I had bids of 42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 51, 52, 56 my strategy was to bid at 3.5* at Garden-Grove, added Anaheim north, added Anaheim Hills, added Laguna Beach. I was thinking I could add Laguna Hills - Mission Viejo, since there are no 3.5* but didn't want to risk it.I will bid again and start at 50 repeating the above pattern. Any suggestions on how to improve my bidding strategy? Since I am staying several nights, I dont want to pay more than 60-62.Thanks!justagirl Link to comment
thereuare
I was thinking I could add Laguna Hills - Mission Viejo, since there are no 3.5* but didn't want to risk it.DO NOT add this zone as it does contain 3.5* rated properties. Be sure you're using the method discussed in Priceline Re-Bidding Explained to determine your re-bid zones and not the hotel lists on the board. If you're not sure how to determine your re-bid zones please read the previous thread, and if you're still confused, ask questions and we'll break it down further for you.Iwoudl be bidding as follows:At the 3.5* level in this zone you do have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3.5* Disnelyland-Garden Grove...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $48, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $53, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* Disneyland-Anaheim...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $48, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $53, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3.5* Disnelyland-Garden Grove and Disneyland-Anaheim...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $58, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $62Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. justagirl
Thanks for the info! I was comparing to your hotel list, now I know to use PRICELINE to determine what star ratings are in what areas!!I will re-bid tonight using your suggested strategy. When I win, would you like me to edit this post with my results, or post a new forum topic? Thanks! Link to comment
mbstone
I have had problems bidding these zones recently after many months of easy wins. Either the economy is heating up and people are taking the rugrats to Disneyland again, or the hotels have gotten together and agreed among themselves to limit PL availability. Link to comment
justagirl
Does closing out the browser after each set of searches allow for multiple searching before the 24hours? ((If rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE))I am also "logging in" when I get to the screen rather than typing my info from scratch each time, does that make a difference? Thanks again!justagirl Link to comment
thereuare
Closing the browser at times indicated above allows you to UNcheck the zones you previously bid... so in the second cycle of bidding there would otherwise not be anyway to bid Disneyland-Anaheim by itself (ie- not including Disnelyland-Garden Grove)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
